I look forward to watching the highlights.

It was honestly appalling. Probably one of the worst test innings from a home team batting first you will ever see.

Bowled out in 45 overs on day 1 at home after winning the toss.

2 Players caught on the inner ring off wide long hops off a spinner. 2 players out playing reverse sweeps, 1 player run out at the non strikers end backing up too far.

It was like watching the highlights of a collapse in a T20 innings.

Dom Bess picked up one of the easiest 5 wicket hauls you will ever see. I saw a stat that on average with all the balls that Dom Bess bowled he would have picked up 0.18 test wickets. He got 5 wickets....

We are building a team for the Ashes tour and dont have many matches to prepare.
Bairstow got afew runs but I dont trust him to do anything in the Ashes. We might as well have picked Foakes as a specialist batsman .

Shame we can’t watch this, but Sri Lanka had some bad luck. Shanaka was extremely unlucky and nearly as unlucky was Embuldeniya. But then there was the Steve Smith dismissal and two batsmen out reverse sweeping.

Some poor shots but the pitch looked aloud tougher than Root is making it look after Crawley did a Wade and threw his wicket away...

Bairstow got afew runs but I dont trust him to do anything in the Ashes. We might as well have picked Foakes as a specialist batsman .

Bairstow seems to do well in Asia - more specifically Sri Lanka. Agree though, he will struggle back in England.

I'd say Bairstow will be getting a big run in these Sri Lanka & India series.

So im guessing Root should have declared this morning with a lead of 200? And then what happens if Sri Lanka make 350-400 and England are set 200 on a day 5 pitch, you know how stupid that looks?
