The only thing people care about is the premiership, which will be decided again this year, no matter how much you want to downplay it.
No, people care about premiership in a normal season not this compromise fixture sh*t that the AFL is doing to get the season* finished again like last year. Ask how fair this is for Sydney and GWS who are vying for the top 4 and 8 and have to hub for at least a month, GWS already got shafted last year* because they drew the short end of the fixture (like us) by the AFL and they are doing this to them again this year*. Port Power even played their "home" game against Collingwood last night.

EVERY YEAR we play to a “fixture” not a draw.

Gee this board is depressing and many have extremely short memories. North are going through a period of good form, but far out, they were absolutely putrid to start the year. Both clubs are rebuilding and both clubs will go in waves of in/out of form, shock horror!

Overall, we have played the better top end footy against the best sides, but have a couple of shocking losses against mid table sides to counter that. North have been ok against top sides, better against mid table sides, but have also thrown up 20 goal losses to the Bulldogs. Way too early in either rebuild to predict who is building the better list. Most on this board predicted about 5-7 wins and guess what, that’s how many we will get! Anyone talking about some players regressing always like to leave out the progression in players like Butts, Schoenberg, Keays and RT. Do we need more quality mids? Absolutely, but we knew that before the season started. To have performed as well as we have against some top 4 sides has the season as an overall positive for mine.

Thing is its not waves of form, we were good for 10 weeks, now we stink, reverse for North.

North have been good for several weeks now.

Yep. It's getting embarrassing now. It's the culture at the Blues. I don't think any coach could fix this.
Especially this bLoos player ...

...from Roos board - that's either a big arse tattoo (too much $$$/time during covid) or frilly knickers :laughv1:

He also did some stuff today that would have people throwing their remotes at the TV. Overall, I just can’t see major upside at this stage of our rebuild.
Every player does things that have you throwing the remote, we just chose to emphasise it with some players and ignore it with others

I believe we need 2-3 more consistent 23-26 yr olds to help accelerate the rebuild

Whether that is Durmont, or couple of others..... our young group need some backbone players around them

North have a pretty decent looking group of players in the 20-23 y.o. age bracket.

Larkey, Stephenson, LDU, Thomas, Simpkin, McKay and Zurhaar.

Add to that Phillips and Powell who they picked up in last year's draft and suddenly their future doesn't look too bad.

Somehow they made two prelims under Scott but they were fragile

Noble seeming like the right bloke to rebuild them in a solid foundation. Good for him

There are other measures of success but "at the end of the day" flags are all that counts.

Yet Ken is a "very very successful coach" for two prelims in 10 years. G Lyon.
In that case, Craig must be a genius getting us to 2 prelims in 7 years.

So every year some clubs go into a hub for over a month and can't return back to their clubs which is happening this year for the last quarter of the season*? So every year teams play of short break more than others which happened the entire season* last year? At least for the later, the AFL will try to schedule this fixture as even as possible in a normal season to manage OH&S for the players.

I think some of us are forgetting this.

We could lose every game left, have Collingwood do the same but drop the 9% difference between the clubs and have Collingwood bottom.
GWS would be very happy if the pies finished last..

And the pies wouldve done all that trading last year for naught
