I'd trade Battle and Long for pick 17

Gotta look at the whole picture

That gets us 2 good picks before our NGA selections.

If we couldn't trade up then it is obviously a differenr story.
That gives us 11 and 19 and two NGA's. Would prefer to keep both for that one iffy pick.
Hugh Goddard was #19

Haha some of the stuff in here is mental.

If you hear a rumour, check if the player is in contract or not. Then check when he last signed, if he signed this year he probably isn't going anywhere. Just a little bit of research would be good lol
Maybe he's smart.

If we pick up a half decent CHB then its between Highmore and Coff for the intercept defender spot.

Sounds good in theory but hard to achieve.

That's true. I'm going out for a bit, when I get back can we have 3 more bullshit rumours to discuss? Here's some scenarios;

. Matt Finnis taking the Suns CEO job and bringing Max King with him to complete his fascination of uniting the King twins.

. Jack Steele to Carlton after he got along with Sam Walsh at the Brownlow

. Ratts to line up at centre bounces next year after the loss of Luke Dunstan
Risky to jump the grand canyon on a BMX

Clark had an interrupted season but played a couple of elite games this year including getting 33 touches.

With a tank he'll be scary good.
86% game time in that match too

14 CPs; 20 UPs

Need to get fitter & be played in the midfield permanently (like Darcy parish)

The Hunter Clarke trade would only happen if it was a part of the plot to bring in Ben King this year, not to get into the draft earlier. If that’s the case make it happen.

Darcy Moore and Sincs to marry and demand to be united under one jumper?

Nobody said Coff would be traded. Contracted, still a required player, but other clubs have asked the question.

So say Coff asks to be traded and we are offered a late FRDP? We won't accept that. Maybe we would take two but who is offering that?
Coff in my view is highly unlikely to be traded.
I really think Long, Battle and Ross are the ones that will be likely but not our emerging stars.
Funnily enough, didn't we get Coff, Long and Battle for O'Meara?
Coff was our own pick, Clark was the Hawks pick from the trade

It seriously cuts into our depth too. If we are planning on making finals, stripping out all depth makes that hard. We nearly couldn't field a full side this year.

Well you broke the news on Clark.

So it would be circular. We got pick 7 plus Battle and Long.
We trade Clark for 5 Battle for 14 and Long for 50 and 55

So O'Meara =

Saints
Pick 5
Pick 14
Pick 50
Pick 55

Hawks
O'Meara
Battle

Essendon
Long

Brisbane
Battle

The O'Meara trade, the gift that keeps on giving [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

Yes, we have had difference of opinion on Dunstan but agreed it would thin out our depth if all three went.

If anyone has any rumours they’d like to share, pm me first for filtering. I’ll be able to save you from ridicule and if it happens I can back you up.
Pretty shit how people get ridiculed for it, no wonder some posters only use PM.

And Ross looking less likely. Richmond really plummeted once their youth quota got too high. You can probably carry up to 4 to 5 sub 50 games players at the most before inexperience and inconsistency starts to bite.Throw a few more sub 100 gamers and things start to look a bit imbalanced.

How long did Ben McEvoy have after signing his contract? He still had 2 years to go when we traded him.

But that was the club’s doing. It wasn’t his request. Obviously he had to agree though.

Both Clark and Coffield were drafted in 2017 with a view that both can become future permanent mids, this plan has not worked out after 4 years... I know they have both show glimpses, but for now they are still “potentials” and we’ve seen true young mids from other sides coming on after 1 and 2 years (Sydney’s Campbell, Gulden, Freo’s Serong).. part of the reason we brought in a new head of player development. Now could we have drafted better in 2017? Not clear cut. the only other true mids after pick 7-8 were Charlie Constable and James Warpel, so not a lot of mids talent to pick from that year either, Or you go for Naughton instead of Coffield.

Now if Clark and Coffield are now told to play full time mids and basically shadow/train with Steele, Crouch and Jones the entire pre-season, it may still happen for them.. but they need to be put in one position and settle quick..

We have a lot of players who have not settled in 1 position: Coffield, Clark, Gresham, Billings, Battle, Long, Hill. Hopefully this will improve. we can easily see Battle, Long move on.

Completely logical for the list manager to consider shopping Battle AND Coffield on the basis Highmore & Sharman exceeded expectations. Club should be considering all their options with nobody 100% safe unless their names are Steele, Marshall or King.

For mine the club is at the crossroads. We are in the 6-12 “safe zone”, with a few tweaks & risks needed to potentially move into top 4 contention. Sure, moving on someone like Coffield could blow up in our face however at least the club would be doing something.

Clark I’m a lot more inclined to retain unless the offer leads to obtaining a similarly or better midfielder that is ready to go….

Bit baffled by the Hunter Clark talk, I'd have him in the untouchables section (unless it's serious overs, ie 2 first round picks) The guy had an interrupted year but has shown enough for me know he'll be a reliable A grader in the near future. He's turning 23 around round 1 next year.
