Yep. He was eligible last year too. Outside chance. Is Dane Whitnall eligible this year?
Mids...Is the 2023 draft potentially better for talls? Taking these 2022 and 2023 drafts as a whole, I wouldn't be surprised if draft picks this year will focus on faster, hard at it, outside type players. If so, who would be some of the candidates around our picks (currently 11, 29, 62, 65, 83)?

Mids...
Ashcroft, likely #1 or 2, will go to Brisbane F/S
Wardlaw, has been rated 1 or 2 most of past 12 months, but recent hamstring injuries may see him slip, but unlikely to get to us
Sheezel, forward/mid. Would love him, but won't get to us.
Tsatas, this would be the guy we'd really want, classy outside mid. Again won't get to us
Jyhe Clark, prob top 10, and more an inside player, but if he did fall to us, we'd have to consider.
Mattaes Phillipou, tall, classy left-footer from SA. Port might snatch him before comes to us. But could fit the description of who you're looking for.
Cam Mackenzie, Saints NGA, but they won't be able to take him under new rules. They might just grab him at their pick though. Classy mid who can hit the scoreboard.
Mitch Szybkowski. Good chance to be available. But more the hard-working inside mid.
Oliver Hollands. Perhaps best of the outside running mids (after Tsatas), and would be right in our sights (if we're after that outside runner you're suggesting). Brother of Suns' Elijah. Elite runner, works hard both ways, good disposal.
Brayden George. Dynamic small forward, who can work through the middle. Prob not the wing option you're looking for, but an option we'll look at.
At around second pick...
Olli Hotton if he gets that far (son of Trent). Winger, runs all day. Might even be an option for first round if we go deep into finals
Bailey Humphrey goal-kicking, quick mid. Rising up rankings during later part of year, might even end up a first round option.
Anthony Munkara another dynamic forward, rather than mid. Essendon NGA, but unlikely to get to pick 40. They'll have to do with Al Davey Jr as a F/S.
Adam D'Aloia SA inside mid who can hit scoreboard.
Kobe Ryan Like D'Aloia, another SA player who has been rated highly by some, but has drifted in ratings. Balanced mid, quick.
Sam Gilbey WA defender, who could play outside mid, strong runner
Jacob Konstanty Small forward with a few smarts.
Darcy Edmends Bit of a smokey, but would suit what you're looking for - wingman, good on left or right.
Later picks - too hard to say, will be a bunch of options.
Doubt will use both picks on mids - expect we'll take at least one tall, as it takes longer to develop taller players. I'm thinking we'll use one of these picks on a versatile tall - a forward who can ruck, or a defender who can switch forward.
Ooh, not sure why I missed him! He is on my big list. Think he'll get picked up before us though, but you never know.Elijah Hewett is the one I want. What's better than having one Hewett?

This years crop could be most covid effected, missing 2 seasons as 16 and 17 yo. This group may really come on once draftedNo, still think there is some good talent through the whole draft, but I wouldn't release our future picks
Will post some rankings soon, but will drop some names to watch until then
Jasper Scaife - 197 85. Agile, smart, booming long kick, strong hands. Can play both ends. Would be around 3rd/4th rounder
Booming long LEFT foot kick? We need more lefties..
Likewise, we need more impact from our medium forwards and the potential is there for him to become a genuine matchwinner. So want us to draft Brayden George
Guess it’s time to set camp up back in this thread.
Like we have for the last 10 years.
Nah, we’d just bomb it longGet me Brayden George to kick some goals.
What are we expecting De Koning to be?Anyone of Hollands, George or Ginbey, would love Phillipou too but probably would go much earlier. Keep the fingers crossed Austin selects a good lad.
We also need a good tap Ruckman to develop.
Agree we have TDK is unsettled at the moment, I see him more as a tall utility? thence a surplus in a way, needs to be developed carefully, so much natural skill. What are we expecting De Koning to be?
If he’s not going to be the main ruckman, he’s not needed in the forward or back line.
