Looks like a good kid. We could be a shot, depending on the mix we choose to draft.
Position? Forward/midfielder is his classification and can do both. More a hybrid mid than an inside type. Hard enough that that is not an issue. Some chance he could play wing, but probably not a classic type for that.

His best results were forward. Decent crumber and seems to get to the right areas, one of those he can “jump up” and take a grab for a relatively small player. I don’t see him as a first rounder, but said to be in the mix. Theoretically if we get Acres for the wing and choose to go tall for our first pick, he would be a really good option if he lasts to our second rounder. Offers a bit more variety to our forward mix and genuinely capable of playing midfield in time.

Listed as 181cm so probably tops out at around 185cm…which would be a great size as a mid/forward

Absolutely, but this is the thing with BF trade chat, it's all speculative. Maybe Sydney like next year's draft more, maybe not. Maybe they have some academy kids next year that would make late first rounders obsolete, or maybe they have a top 3 prospect who they need points for, or maybe they have some second round talents and would like to secure a few early draftees before matching bids in the second round. Maybe they love Busslinger and are prepared to cough up to get a pick in the top dozen, or maybe they love Brayden George and would rather take him at 17 or 18 themselves.

The s*t thing was Arrow taking a cheap shot over the "validity" of, in his words "so called trades". Disingenuous passive-aggressive s*t-stirring. His comeback? "Why would Sydney trade their 17 for their future first when next year's draft is better?" "They could get a better deal from another club". Firstly, every year is a better draft than the year before, and yet we always see trades for future picks. Secondly, draft strategy is a hell of a lot more complex than "which draft is better", especially for clubs with academies. Thirdly, who knows what those other clubs want to do, or who else they might trade with. Fourthly, it's ***** irrelevant, the trade suggestion was "thereabouts" and is worthy of discussion, not lazy derision.

I love trade chat. It's fun to consider all the permutations. It sucks when someone kicks the metaphorical ball over the fence for no good reason whatsoever. "I was asking for a valid trade scenario". Pfft, spare me, it was condescending crap thrown up in the face of valid trade scenarios because he thinks they're unlikely.

Next year’s draft IS ABSOLUTELY superior to this years. If posters want crazy hypotheticals, find that option to split our picks or trade up to give us multiples in the first round. Brisbane will want points not picks, do we trade a couple of decent players and combine picks to get Brissie’s first? These are the more realistic prospects to look at. We will want our first next year, actually trading up for next year would be a better outcome than trying to push up this year.

The other thing to bear in mind with 2023 draft, is that we will have one eye on the 2024 draft (with the Campo bros.) So next year, we might like to move our 2024 1st round to 2023 (to give us an extra pick in a good draft), and move later picks in 2023 to 2024 (for points). So throwing a pick this year back to 2023 isn't the worst idea - even if it leaves us with a poor hand this year.

You stated pick 11 for 17 & 18 - Tell me, would you do that deal in our position and if not why would any other team do that deal, without something coming back with 11?

You also stated a future 1st for 17 or 18 - With next year's draft looking better that this year, why would we do that deal, to pick up a player that is solely a forward that has just done an ACL? I doubt we would entertain that move

Twomey - Cadman's performances as a key forward are proving hard to ignore. The hard-working tall forward has been a prolific goalkicker all year – he booted seven goals in three games for Vic Country and 34 in the NAB League for the Rebels, including four two weeks ago against Gippsland Power. But Cadman is also capable of getting up the ground and being involved, with his goals that night coming alongside 20 disposals, seven marks and five inside 50s. Has some Harry McKay to the way he plays and has plenty of development left as well.

Cadman plays very similar to Charlie, not Harry.

Also kicks more like Charlie at the moment.

While we have a want for quick mids and rebounding defenders, I would have zero issues if we wound up taking Busslinger and Keeler with our first two picks. Fantastic footballers.

We won't be getting two of them; I'd even look at taking Keeler with our first. Those draft rankings fluctuate so much, it's hard to take them seriously.

What we are in Dire need of is a Mid/Forward with elite disposal by foot. Our woeful delivery into the forward line is what cost our season.
We desperately need someone who can put the ball to the advantage of a leading forward, or pinpoint a free player in the middle of a zone.

Darcy Jones - Should still be available at pick 29- late second, was a goal kicking mid/forward at juniors and probably a small forward at AFL level because he is 175cm tall and tiny build wise... Has all the tools to be a player and would have been much higher up the draft order if he was taller...

Others I like, that would go very late in the draft to rookie picks are

Jack O’Sullivan - 4th round to rookie pick, watched this kid a bit in juniors for Kyneton... He has huge talent and probably a small forward at AFL level because he is also 175cm, invited to the combine so someone is interested...
Harvey Gallagher - 4th round to rookie pick, watched this kid a bit in juniors for Sandhurst... He talent, was a mid/forward at juniors and probably a small forward at AFL level because he is also 179cm, played 3 games for our reserves and invited to the combine so someone is interested...

I love the look of Keeler. I've seen the Paddy Ryder comparisons, but with his frame and gait, he looks to have a bit of Dean Cox about him. Big, big man, with great mobility. He looks like a guaranteed AFL footballer as opposed to our speculator in Mirkov, placeholder in Pittonet and hopeful in De Koning. The thing about these guys is they are always in demand so you can offload one no problem if you get Keeler in.

Decent list of players. Like them and a handful of others with similar profiles. Overager Brandon Leary and Seth Campbell from Tassie, and Noah Long readily come to mind.

The problem is we already have four “short people” by AFL standards in and around our forward line Motlop, Durdin, Owies and Fisher. We need more physicality and point of difference. I am not really focussing on the George and Humphrey discussions as we are more in need of mid-forward connection or a KPP developing upgrade. We absolutely need a more mercurial midsize forward type, a more physical threat who can be a threat aerially.

Of your list, the most attractive to me, given where we are at is Cahill. A more mature body, ready to go if we have a rookie spot available when the dust settles. I also like giving our excellent list of VFL players some hope that their efforts can be rewarded.

FYI Gallagher, who has played for our seconds as 23rd man, shifted back with a couple of NAB league BOG’s with prolific numbers at the end of the season. Numbers suggest a heavy rebounding role.

And no guarantee we will even need lots of points to draft them or even want to draft them. They aren't Ashcroft. Neither are shaping as top 10 picks and Ben in particular is no guarantee to get drafted (Lucas better at this stage). Don't think they should factor in our draft plans at all this season. Maybe next year when we have a better understanding around where they might land.
