My take:
Rapt with the Hollands pick at 11.
Rapt with the trade we pulled off to get Pick 30 after bids for our future 2nd. Really didn't think we could get a pick that high. And then really liked the Cowan pick. I picked him way back as a player i liked. Ranked him around 20 at worst. In fact was 17 0n my latest Board. And we have an ageing core of HB's.
Bit non-plussed with the Binns pick. Can play. I liked his game in the Champs GF. Just a bit surprised we needed/wanted him that high. Still a solid pick, but....
Lemmey was a smart pick. High upsize boom bust with a 50ish pick.
Pleased we could pull off that extra high pick and especially for a very fair price.

No, they're going to be complemented by them.
Love the Cowan pick. Binns out on Jaxon but keen to see what he does running with Walshy and Hollands. With Acres on board and Olli, LOB and Cotts, I'm not sure where his place is in the coming years.
Lemmey is a great risk reward. He has the talent and has the drive.
Give him some clear goals, structure and consistency. Bit of luck and he could end up repaying the initial hype pre-2022. Hang around Big H and Weiters and learn from them at both ends... Will be ready for games in 2024.

1. Keeps Charlie happy and got him re-signed knowing Ed was hanging around.
2. Will offer leadership and experience to the VFL team. Personally, I like it given the additions to the list. Going to have players in and out of the squad due to battling for position and if Ed is in the seconds will refuse to allow those dropped from seniors to get too low; will encourage and fire them up to win their spot in the B22 back.
3. Will be a reliable foot soldier IF/WHEN called upon for the senior team.
I'm for Ed having a genuine last season.

Should have been delisted and placed on the reserves list if we wanted to retain.
That said club may be wanting the extra insurance of an experienced midfielder ready to be deployed
Harry Lemmey just might become part of footy folklore. How did he ever slip to that pick? Fingers crossed.
Most importantly we still hold next year’s first, possibly with the chance to trade out 24’s future first for a double tilt if circumstances are possible…

Ed, Dow, Fogarty, Carroll and Hollands in the VFL, who now finally have a target to kick to in Lemmey.
Having a strong VFL side is very important for development and keeping the best 22 honest.

Yep. Depth for the VFL team. No doubt we'll get a few depth players for the non-AFL list there too.
A good run with health and there's no reason we can't be a genuine VFL threat next year.

Thought it was a little over kill with outside runners especially after bringing acres across. To me this was a mixed draft in terms of the types we brought in. However, I like that we set an agenda and really went for it.
I still would have liked a mercurial front half player like a Konstanty or Clarke but I guess we weren’t willing to give up what other clubs were asking for to move that high in the draft. Here’s hoping cunners, Martin or Honey can make a mark next season.

Full compliments to Austin for executing a strategy to rectify our deficiencies. I just think we picked the right players.

Armchair expert here, so I just have to trust our recruitment team...
I have to say I was underwhelmed from our drafting, but now they are our players - then we've certainly picked up 4 top20 rated players
It was obvious that Voss had a big input into the players he wanted.
Fitness and transition plays will be the next layers in our game tactic.
Injuries have further highlighted that we need run, Acres and with the first three picks we have address that.
I'm excited that we've traded for needs.
This suggest to me that we are rather happy with our list and do not see any pressing need beyond getting more run into our team.
I'm excited - bring on 2023!

So excited to have a depth KPF in our twos. Having a genuine focal point will be great for the developing midfielders. We must make the reserves strong.

If he's playing, then the way I see it, 2 of the following won't be: Pitto, TDK, JSOS
We have plenty of genuine midfielders: Walsh, Cerra, Kennedy, Cripps, Dow, Carroll, Hewett.
We also have a group of guys who can pinch hit as mids: Fisher, Docherty, Cuningham, Martin, Curnow, Williams, Fogarty.
We’ve added immense running power across the midfield.
Seriously most clubs would die for our crappy midfield mix.

Look I get this, but what I don't get is a focused and professional football club having a similar approach when they have all the information on hand. This feels like we went too far to indulge Voss when he refused to really engage in implementing multiple alternatives offered to him by his assistant and development coaches.
What about those who can run quick while keeping their feet? Hollands, for all that he can do, is not that player enough compared to what was in that 10-25 range.
Lemmey is part of that answer, but I see him as more of a swingman. De Koning is another solve here, with the hope being that Mirkov kicks on. I wasn't expecting a ruck solve via the draft unless someone fell in our lap, and the Pittonet contract situation already sealed the deal a bit unless we went and snatched one of GWS' younger ruck options.
That's the plan, but they've got to manage more than 10 games between them. Durdin will lift, but Motlop needs a lot of fitness work.
Fingers are also crossed for Martin. People crying about defensive injury potential, but that forward half mix is like a hospital ward.
I think we've got third tall solves up forward now, especially with Cowan coming in: Kemp is going forward with certainty.
It's sad that we have so many people getting paid to leave the entire process of making crunch decisions to the elation or humiliation of a finals series.
While some of it comes from the mindset of the competitor and that can't always be imbued or fully identified prior, there's plenty that can be done and should be done, particularly if players are regularly failing at a task their peers aren't in the regular season.
I was locked and loaded to do a far more sarcastic and acerbic version of this list, but you missed one:

But that's a pissweak set of reasons, the real one is if his ankle is right he's still got enough about him, particularly if he can safely split time between the middle and the forward line, which will leave him fresh to unleash the speed aspect of his speed/endurance mix.
