The problem isn't the individual talent, it's that you could throw a blanket over all of them and Cuningham, Dow, and Williams would run away with the blanket while the rest watch arm-in-arm.We have plenty of genuine midfielders: Walsh, Cerra, Kennedy, Cripps, Dow, Carroll, Hewett.
We also have a group of guys who can pinch hit as mids: Fisher, Docherty, Cuningham, Martin, Curnow, Williams, Fogarty.
We’ve added immense running power across the midfield.
Seriously most clubs would die for our crappy midfield mix.
WotSchizophrenic choices on our part, Saints played it perfectly and killed it. I wish we'd learm.

None, aside from the rookie spot Ed’s going to takeHow many list spots do we have left? Would love for us to take a ruck.
That is what's happening. He's been delisted and we're picking him tomorrow.Should have been delisted and placed on the reserves list if we wanted to retain.
Ok.The problem isn't the individual talent, it's that you could throw a blanket over all of them and Cuningham, Dow, and Williams would run away with the blanket while the rest watch arm-in-arm.
202cm according to AustinIs he 202, 201 or 199? I've read all three in the last ten minutes.

My take:
Rapt with the Hollands pick at 11.
Rapt with the trade we pulled off to get Pick 30 after bids for our future 2nd. Really didn't think we could get a pick that high. And then really liked the Cowan pick. I picked him way back as a player i liked. Ranked him around 20 at worst. In fact was 17 0n my latest Board. And we have an ageing core of HB's.
Bit non-plussed with the Binns pick. Can play. I liked his game in the Champs GF. Just a bit surprised we needed/wanted him that high. Still a solid pick, but....
Lemmey was a smart pick. High upsize boom bust with a 50ish pick.
Pleased we could pull off that extra high pick and especially for a very fair price.
Good job Austin and co. We undoubtedly needed extra run and we got it done.
He's a vampire. Could be as old as thylacine60 and we'd never know
Cheers - looks pretty content to me![]()
Austin wraps up night two of the NAB AFL Draft
Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin spoke to media at the end of the second night of the NAB AFL Draft.www.carltonfc.com.au
Balance means nothing if you draft players that are rubbish and won’t make it.
Our spine and talls are the least of our worries to be drafting in the first 2 rounds.
We don't have a list spotI can only hope we intent signing someone like Ethan Phillips and/or Zac Sproule on as a rookie or supplemental selection. Otherwise we look very short of options if the first picked guys aren’t available.
So with pick 40 something you wanted a forward that would get the number one defender ahead of Harry and Charlie? No pressure LemmeyI don’t mind him but is he not too much of the same? I would like someone who can take the number one forward or someone who will command the number one defender.

Is Keeler the ruckman zoned to Adelaide academy?Anyway, I rate Lemmey in this draft range, but I rated Keeler a lot higher. Would have been happy to have both.
Good - Geelong just won the flag with these typesSaints Hawks and Norf nailed the draft with their selections ..our selections were no thrills hard working hard at it types
