I feel like Dawson makes more sense as an upgrade target but I also think he has more upside than Short

Dawson for ceiling potentially playing mid/wing

I want to see how that plays out before I pick him. He’s in the mix and could go 100+

Short we know what we’ll get
22 games at 95+
It’s a matter of the safe pick or the upside pick. Short I actually see averaging 100+ In 2022 but Dawson could go even higher.

Agree with this. Short likely to be very consistent @95-100 with an odd spike. Dawson probably more likely to have 140's and 80's. Dawson at a new club. I'd probably stick with Short but Dawson could go nuts...wtfk

De Goey is playing for his future you'd think. It's more whether Collingwood play him in the midfield like last year. If he has the same role as the 2nd half of last year then he's better value than Crisp imo.

Crisp's big virtue is not missing games, reckon he's priced close to his maximum.

De Goey going to be good value at his price. Coach rates him as a midfielder. Not saying he's a better option but I think he should be in more teams than he's currently in. Has plenty of time to get fit too.

Nah. Question was answered above. You just build your team around Macrae AND Grundy. They shouldn't be mutually exclusive of one another.

JDG is training with mids and he’s fit, however the arrival of Lipinski (plus development of Macrae et al) may affect his mid-time - you might find he’ll spend slightly more time forward than he did in the second half of 2021.

However, the same could be said for Crisp!

With a new coach & game plan, plus a different mid mix, it’s very much a preseason watch for those two.

FWIW I am starting JDG at this stage. I think he’ll get some CD KOTD action as well.

Still think Lipinski deserves more consideration as a MPM breakout and suspect he’ll be in far more teams post preseason games.

He's been swapping mid/fwd with Lipinkski in match simulation, and training split between fwd and mid. Training reports (and my own attendances) indicate to me that he'll spend a little more time forward than the back half of 2021
