George Stevens who was mentioned by Cal Twomey with Port would be a fascinating get. 189cm 101kg on-baller. His highlights show good movement, a deft touch and great balance, he's not just overpowering smaller players. Going by phantom drafts, he would go earlier than our pick.

Would be fun to take him out from under Geelong's nose after they took all our late picks, then we traded another back in the BZT trade before our picks that went out.

Cal Twomey's phantom draft whispers for Port

Picks: 69, 83, 87 (likely to use two selections)

It's a wait-and-see-who-is-there type of night for the Power recruiting team, which has the latest start to the draft of any club after its huge haul of four players in the trade period. But Port has been prepared for that situation through the year and will have been looking at its order a little differently to other clubs. Their first pick will likely end up being around No.50-52 once bids come in and other clubs start to pass. The likes of Sandringham forward/midfielder Harvey Johnston, Oakleigh midfielder Will Lorenz and Greater Western Victoria small forward Lachie Charleson are likely to be around that stage of the draft, while the Power have also looked at midfielder Liam Walters, who attracted some interest late in the year. Port Adelaide is another club who could look at George Stevens if he is still on the board. Local Loch Rawlinson is a small forward who may have appeal late.

Sturt small forward Loch Rawlinson is the latest AFL Draft hopeful out of the Double Blues, having pieced together plenty of eye-catching moments this season. With a terrific speed-endurance combination, Rawlinson worked his way into a State Draft Combine invite off the back of a solid national carnival and SANFL Under 18s season. For the Croweaters, Rawlinson kicked a couple of goals from 11 disposals on average, and generally used his clean hands to advantage.


A nimble player in close, he is a classy talent with upside, and having the work rate to get from contest-to-contest helps. Standing at only 178cm and 72kg, Rawlinson is still only light, and therefore his contented work is an area of improvement, while his kicking consistency, particularly in full flight, is another way the South Australian can further improve. He proved a clutch player in Sturt's run to the SANFL Under 18s Grand Final though, having a handy knack for kicking crucial goals.

On the other hand he is an inside midfield and clearance specialist who can find plenty of ball. If he can get first hands on it and give it to Rozee, JHF and Butters in the centre square, good times.

43 is a late 2nd this year (maybe early 3rd depending on how the dominoes fall regarding F/S and Academy picks).

We need our 3rd and 4th rounders next year to match bids for Burgoyne and Montgomery (maybe also Ben Barrett from our Academy) - if they turn out to be good enough to draft.

As we gave away some of our future picks in our trading machinations this year, I can't see us having anything juicy to be able to deal with you which would be fair to both parties sadly.

He's 30 years old next year and one man. You can have more then one clearance midfielder in your squad, especially if one is at the tail end of his career and one is setting out.
