Averages don't really mean that much for forwards. They look at totals.
Who cares it's a crap award anyway, I bet the AA selectors even go through these threads to see what the public thinks. Can put a line through Taranto who has dropped right off, don't see any Tigers making it this year

Would someone who's played 15 games, kicked 45 goals and 18 assists be more deserving than someone who played 23 games, kicked 60 goals and had 20 assists?Averages though are actually a better way of doing it, with exceptions of course as a player who only played 11 games across the season can't make the AA team but it does not seem fair that a player who played 22 games makes the AA team over someone who played 18 games just because the player who played 22 games kicked more goals, even though the player who played games kicked more goals per game.

3 weeks ago Gawn was absolutely belted by Rowan Marshall.Gawn > English???
Marshall was terrific around the ground but beaten in the ruck. That hardly equates to a ''belting''.3 weeks ago Gawn was absolutely belted by Rowan Marshall.
Still think English is ahead

That's true Marshall gets beaten in the hit outs most weeks. Gawn would have beaten him there but around the ground Marshalls influence is second only to English. Gawn would have had a tough time matching him in that regard.Marshall was terrific around the ground but beaten in the ruck. That hardly equates to a ''belting''.
If Max went head to head with Marshall without Grundy I think we all know what the result would have been.
But yeah, Marshall was great that day.
English and Marshall should be the AA rucks. That's true Marshall gets beaten in the hit outs most weeks. Gawn would have beaten him there but around the ground Marshalls influence is second only to English. Gawn would have had a tough time matching him in that regard.

Neither of them are in. So pretty irrelevant.People that want Grian Miers in b4 Dustin Martin need their head read.
Martin's display today was incredible to watch.

This is one thing I agree with you on will be a chance to make the side and it helps having a good cv to gain selection.People that want Grian Miers in b4 Dustin Martin need their head read.

Sinclair’s has had the HB spot locked up since rd 4Current absolute locks: N Daicos, Bont, Petracca, Gulden, Curnow, Walker, Greene, Moore, English, Butters, Dawson.
Leaves 11 spots in arguably the following: 1/2 key back, 4/5 backs, 1 wing, about 4 mids, maybe 1 key forward, 3 forwards. Interesting last few round.
I'd have Taylor, Merrett, Houston, Sicily, J Daicos all on the cusp of locks
Langford should have enough time to climb past the injured Hawkins and take that third tall spot but as a medium.Goals and assists round 20:
1. Charlie Curnow 79 (67/12)
2. Taylor Walker 73 (61/12)
3. Toby Greene 67 (49/18)
4. Tom Hawkins 65 (47/18)
5. Kyle Langford 58 (40/18)
6. Jeremy Cameron 56 (44/12)
7. Nick Larkey 55 (50/5)/Joe Daniher (43/12)
9. Charlie Cameron 53 (42/11)/Aaron Naughton (37/16)
