Unfortunately, your mob have been enjoying plenty of both lately...My only answer is you guys get enough flags. Let everyone else get something!
I just can't see that happening so at the very least I think Andrews, who has had a fine season, will make it.
Will C.Cameron be rewarded for many consistent seasons, where he definitely should've had more than one AA selection? I'm just about leaning "yes" and think one of my favourite smokies, Langford, will be the one to pay the price.
Neale I can see missing for the reason you stated and they will pick a Serong or Merrett (or both) instead.
Hard to see Charlie Cameron making it. In the second highest scoring teams he has 15 games of 2-goals or less. His SI’s are pretty low for a permanent forward (65th in the comp). And he gets very little of the ball.
I understand he may be the leading candidate of permanent small forwards, but given the extent of average games, the selectors may well pick an extra mid in the forward line, an extra tall (Daniher type), a second ruck (Gawn type) or a mid/fwd (Bolton or Martin type).
Given they’ve never worried about picking a specialist winger because often none ‘deserve’ it (Gulden and J Daicos will be in this year) they may well do the same up forward this year and not pick a dedicated small forward.

Will be three years in a row Charlie is the leading 'small forward' and misses out. Thats if you base it on goals, goal assists and tackles inside 50m.Hard to see Charlie Cameron making it. Toby Greene has +7 goals, +3 goal assists and Cameron has +7 TI50.Will be three years in a row Charlie is the leading 'small forward' and misses out. Thats if you base it on goals, goal assists and tackles inside 50m.
I'm not comparing him to Greene in this case as I would consider him to be more a candidate for the HFF.Toby Greene has +7 goals, +3 goal assists and Cameron has +7 TI50.
Cameron has also played two more games. In terms of averages, Greene is +0.6, +0.2, -0.2. So Greene is the best small forward this year.
Kingy has gone with that. There is a push by some to have Toby Greene named the AA Captain. I wouldn't be against that tbh

Shai Bolton isn't a small forward. So that basically ruins your argument.Shai Bolton has 44 goals and goal assists. Charlie Cameron has 63.
So is that 19 shortfall (1 per week), out weighed by Bolton having:
460 to 210 disposals
90 to 17 clearances
115 to 40 inside-50’s
142 to 120 SI’s
9469 to 3619 metres gained.
Cameron has had 134 effective disposals for the entire season ….
Of course I’m biased, but Bolton should get the nod ahead of Cameron IF they choose a small forward.

David King’s team is awful

Not a single player, but the aggregate of those single players bear that responsibility. Led by the coach. It's long been a bug bear of mine. It's not necessarily how many are selected in the team. It's the arguments like - "but X finished in whatever position, so he can't make the AA team". That's a silly argument - no single player is responsible for where the team finishes. Or even "if X win the last 2 games and finish in 4th, XX should be selected" What kind of argument is that? It doesn't matter how the individual has played - aslong as the team makes top 4, they should be selected? For what it's worth, your team is a good example of this. The last few years, people have argued that Carlton shouldn't have as many selections as they've had cos the team can't even make finals. It's a dumb argument. Cripps, Curnow, McKay the year before, etc were not the reason Carlton weren't making finals (they were winning the Brownlow and Coleman x 2 FFS). Their individual seasons were absolutely worthy and it was a combination of other factors that saw the team miss out (other playes and their bottom 6 most notably). Cripps isn't more worthy this year just because the team is doing better.
Also, FWIW, Hawthorn never 'dominated' the AA team. We were the benchmark for about 4 years, winning a threepeat but never had more than 3 selections in the AA side across that span.
51 goals and 16 assists is a compelling case. How many more goals does he need to get in? 4?That’s my point. None of the specialist ‘small forwards’ (Papley, Cameron, Weightman, Stengle etc…) have had AA worthy seasons.
Greene plays more like a medium / quasi key forward IMO. I don’t see him as a ‘small forward’.
Anyway … my point is a do see Cameron as the best performed specialist small forward, but I don’t think he’ll be selected.
