Brockman is handy. I reckon that's a pretty good deal for WCE. Shows they will only take offers seriously with pick 2 or 3 involved.

Wasn’t really a comment on Brockman, more an observation that when you’re talking about trading top 3 picks adding in a lower rated player doesn’t necessarily add anything to a deal. Need premium collateral to deal for pick 1, which is fair enough.

Geez. Pick 4, future 1st rnd pick by Hawks(most likely top 6) and Brockman. Knocked back. The Eagles pinning all their hopes on picks 2 and 3 from Kangas or taking Reid. Looking at that offer by Hawks, we're no chance of getting pick 1.
Brockman ended up getting traded for basically nothing so it's really just the first rounders you've got to worry about.

If Curtin does slide 6 and 11 is basically the same deal as 4 and F1 even from the Hawks. F1 could be anything but tends to favour the team giving it away. Hawks could easily make finals next year.

Besides, Eagles want to improve their list now not next year.

If we do offer 6, 11 and F1 that's about as good a deal as West Coast will get. North may offer 2 and 15 at best but I doubt they will go higher than that.

If Curtin is a near certainty to slide, I'd happily keep pick 6. Take the chance he's still there. He looks the 2nd best in the draft to me(but wtf do I know). Would be fantastic across CHB.

Im tinkering with my order all the time but I’ve got him at number 5 at the moment (noting my order is biased towards who I would pick for the Dees);

Reid
Walter
McKercher
Duursma
Curtin
O’Sullivan
Read
Sanders
Wilson
Caddy
Watson

I've got him ahead of Duursma long term. McKercher will be great, no doubt, Walter I haven't seen enough of yet, but tall forwards are a bit hit and miss. I think he'll be a hit though with Suns midfield. I just like the versatility of Curtin. He just looks a player to me. Could see him being a swingman as well. Handy if Petty goes as we only really have Smith as a player who can go forward or back.

Look if McAdam doesn't work out because the Crom are dicks, how about McLaughlan from the Suns as a de-listed free agent as a stop-gap.

I’ve got Duursma ahead of him because of his late season form.

Continued improving each week combined with the way he stepped up within games when the pressure was on/game was on the line.

I probably place more value on a player who can perform in the forward part of the ground as well.

Curtins surety with ball in hand/execution of disposal is elite and his flexibility to move from half back into the middle on occasion (and even forward) is super appealing too.

Both these guys are going to be great players but I’ve got Duursma just ahead for the Dees as he gets goals and steps up when it matters.

Can't lose with either of these guys. Fingers crossed we can snare one of them

I don't know if there's any truth to the story that GWS want to move Haynes off their books and pick up Himmelberg from Adelaide. But, Adelaide, apparently, will do the trade get if they get Chol from GC to replace him.

If that is the case, and we've cleared a ton of salary space then...maybe...

GWS give Pick 7 & Haynes (salary dump) for Melbourne's F2nd

GWS give F2nd to Adelaide for Himmelberg

Adelaide give F2nd to GC for Chol

Melbourne give pick 6, 7 and 11 to WC for pick 1

I see a hitch in this scenario.

Chol requested that he gets traded to the Hawks

Chol Requests Hawks

I really get the sense that WC won’t move pick 1 unless they can guarantee they get Curtin.

Was listening to a podcast yesterday and Haynes talk is pretty much done. Hes happy to stay Giants happy to have him.

Maybe that could change if he went to contender and not North (who was the team interested) but seems a long shot as it stands.

Could do. Don't know, obviously. But Tom Morris was reporting that he was 'gettable' in a salary dump a while back... and when is he ever wrong?

Think he was, and the teams interested like North probably of no interest to Haynes. As a vet he probably wants to play for a contender and the Giants are a better option than most.

I do like the idea of us adding Haynes, not poo pooing the idea at all, would love him to replace Salem in defence. Just doesnt seem we have any interest. :(

The funniest thing ever almost happened yesterday.

Boy i sure hope West Coast draft him in the preseason draft to troll Norf further

Chol is going to the Hawks mate. He's requested to go there.

I'd much prefer to take 6, 7 and 11 than take Reid.

Same, this would be a huge win if we could actually net 7 just for taking on 1 yr of Haynes. The worst result is if we come out of trade week without spending any of that cap room for this yr. Having said that i wouldnt be surprised if we traded 6,7 & 11 to WC for 1 and if it happens so be it. Given taking 1 yr of Haynes is not a bad thing and adds def depth then it would be like were trading 6+11+F2 for Reid which is a big win. So it would be a win either way if we can swing 7. But ye if we were to take 3 1sts in, take whoever slides out of the top 7 prospects and whoever is BPA at 11. All that said i doubt GWS do that.
