I can see us getting the pints that GC need and trading for their pick 5.

With picks 4 and 5 I would be very pleased if we looked at Sanders and Watson.

I’d be equally pleased if we moved them on to WCE for pick 1.

Watson and Duursma is the goss in terms of who people are saying we're into - Will look at Reid but won't go too overboard trying to get him.

if we can get the Suns first round pick, and i think we are in a prime position to do so, then i'd use both picks that high. but if we couldn't get that pick off the Suns then i'd probably trade 4, 15, and a future first for pick one if they'd take it.

If we somehow nabbed both, that would be huge – doubt it happens with the North compo pick etc though.

Duursma would be my preference if it was between the two.

That's just who we're really into apparently, TBH I have next to no idea about the draft this year - For some reason I became less intensely interested after around 2021...

Interesting that most of us in this thread pass over Watson. Twomey ranks ‘The Wizard’ the third best player in the draft. What an electrifying combo he’d make with Kozzie if we go down that path. Does seem a high price to pay though for a permanent small forward, but maybe he’s that damned good.

I don't mind Watson, has a lot of x-factor. Just don't love the idea of spending pick 4 on a 170cm, 68kg small forward.

If he was in addition to a top-line midfield prospect i.e. Duursma, I'd be much more keen.

Yeah I can't say taking a small forward in the top 5 gets me that excited either. If we don't trade up for pick 1 but still manage to snag pick 4+5 I'd want us to take the best mid and best KPD (if there one is worthy of going so high), otherwise just go for the 2 best mids.

Kynan Brown not invited to the draft combine, meaning he's not rated in the top 61 players in the class.

Looks like he'll be a very late/rookie pick

EDIT: not in the 20 players invited to the state combines either, so stock is very low

Looking over some highlights, hes not your typical small forward, they isolated him in F50 and hes able to beat his opponent in a variety of ways. Knows how to lead not just wait over the back or live off crumbs. Great when the ball is on the deck as you'd expect.
Pretty impressive, count me a down as intrigued. (even if im not sure id use a top 5 pick still)

How many small forwards are top 20-30 players?

I'd say none.

Prefer to go best available mid or tall.

Rankine maybe top 20-30?

Absolutely get your point though.

SugarHealey is going to be mad at you for letting AFL recruiters know they should be paying more attention to him, they lurk these boards, apparently.

Yeah close to.

It looks like we've got some tall mids / utilities available in Duursma, Caddy and Curtain - any one of those or McKercher would do pretty nicely.

Looks to be able to kick a set shot from over 35m out so that’s already an upgrade on Spargo
