Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Geelong currently hold pick #11 then pick #85.

There's no way this deal goes through end of this season and having Sean Darcy in 2024 could literally be the difference between winning or not winning a flag - that's not being hyperbolic, he makes us that much better.

English is a good player who plays in the ruck. He’s not a good ruckman. Witts and Darcy are the best actually ruckman this year.

English doesn't nullify the best oppo rucks well enough. You don't have to win the hit out count but you need to limit opposition hits to advantage. Guys like Hickey have made a career out of it.

Think people were under the impression that Schulz could reject his trigger but the club couldn't, slightly different to Conca in that he would never have rejected it


It's just good confirmation of how the rules are worded in that if you hit the trigger its an automatic extension

Multi year is awesome for him.

Honestly, my biggest thing with the club now is complete trust in how they rate talent. If they are giving him a multi year extension that's a pretty massive tick for how they rate him

There's been exceptions around the COVID years.

If you delist and redraft a rookie their three years starts again too. I think the Sam Reid from GWS spent so long on the rookie list he was delisted and redrafted twice.

Yeah there was a one year covid exception, doubt we see it again


We can't delist Worner as the Tigers are chasing him, if we delist him he is every chance to be poached

What’s slightly unclear is the situation with Mid Season Draftees.

It was at the end of 2021 they said rookies could have the 4th year on the rookie list. That was two and a half seasons from the 2019 MSD. There was no MSD in 2020 so we didn’t see what the situation was last year.

Doesn’t affect us this year as we didn’t use a selection in the 2021 MSD but it’ll just let us see whether Kuek can stay on the rookie list in 2025.
