Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Reckon Ras might be a bit, just a tad, more instinctively defensively accountable than our Micky was.

All of these comparisons for Erasmus, and I am surprised nobody has thought of our own backyard and one Michael Barlow. Pretty much the same attributes ... big mid, ball winner, defensive, average field kick but can kick goals, slowish off the mark but will run all day. Same also applies to Crowley apart from the ball winning (but that was never his role). I think Erasmus can end up somewhere in between the two as his floor.

Got to say I think your comparisons are the best from what I’ve seen.

He’s replacing Fyfe imo so that’s the natural comparison but he simply isn’t as good overhead and has superior athleticism so whilst the clearance game is there I’m not seeing all that many other comparison between the two even if I think Erasmus can replace Fyfe quite well.

I think a mixture of Parker, Josh Kennedy is fairly apt. For the old school, I think MJ is a mixture of Simon Black and Craig Turley with a bit more mongrel than both those guys, but less polish.

100% disagree. You need 2 way runners, we are lacking them at the moment in the midfield. Fyfe, Serong, Johnson, Brodie, Aish don’t provide anywhere near the pressure Brayshaw does. Doesn’t mean they are bad players but we don’t run down too many players through the middle. We could not escape Richmond’s pressure in the middle. There were moments they tackles our bigger slower mids 3-4x in a row before a turnover. Keays is the glue in Adelaide’s midfield. Erasmus and Brayshaw will be ours.

Agree to disagree. Keays is ordinary and only plays in the middle to fill in. If Ras becomes Keays I'll be devastated.

I reckon peak Yeo is what we should expect from Erasmus, similar height, should bulk out to around 90kg and plays a similar mix of inside outside game. Erasmus probably better defensively.
