Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

I agree with that. I'd still trade our 1st for a pick in the top 12 this year if it came up on draft night and we have a target in mind or our 2nd for a pick at 30. No point going early on it though.

I would love to go into a trade period with a full set of picks for once. I don't think we've done that since trading future picks came in.

I definitely agree with the second paragraph. Unless we are getting some bonkers deal just hold the picks. I'll back Walls and Co to find something half decent with at least one of our 3 picks anyway.

Keeping our F1 and F2 is insurance against not rising up the ladder as we expect/hope.

I still hold hope that he decides to stay, he has a guaranteed starting position next season, give him a few years and how can you possibly turn that down?

Rumours seem to have gone from he's gone to he's 50/50.

The line from him has been he'll decide after the season finishes all along.

That's usually not a good sign but I've seen players end up staying in that exact scenario.

Perhaps the longer he leaves it, the more money he can extract.

His form has fallen off with the Pies form. I'm not sure he's better than anybody we play. He's in that long list of Pies forwards that look great when they move the ball fast but bog ordinary when they don't.

Contract ends this year although in negotiations. He’s the brother of Eric Benning, but we’ll probably delist him

I can't get my head around this idea we need to recruit a big body mid. Unless Bont comes out and nominates us, we wait on Ras and Johnno and/or Young gets more time there. Worst case, Brodie can suit up.

The last thing we need is another B grade midfielder clogging up spots because they are a bit better than the young kids now but have no upside.

Neither of those blokes are B22 though. I don't think he is better than the blokes actually in the 22 and he's old enough that he probably doesn't have a great deal more to gain. I'd also argue he's not much better than Banners anyway.

I stand by my above. We should have little interest in oppositions 15-25 types players. If we can get A level talent (other than ruck) we should be all over it otherwise we pass.

This happens all the time where the fringe blokes in the teams at the top seduce you into thinking they are better than they are. Pies aren't top because of players like Johnson. They are top because of Moore and Daicos etc.

Not garbage but not needed. If Sturt's trajectory continues than we will have our medium forward set for the future. Now we just need a small forward to compliment the other forwards. Collard is my fave of the bunch so I hope we get him.
