Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

I wouldn’t even trade Cox if it meant we got the first five picks of the draft.

But being serious, I think for a contracted Cox, with key defenders in high demand I would want a top 5 pick AND a teens/early 20s pick at the very least.

I don't know enough about Curtin but even if we got some outrageous offer, doesn't losing Cox risk altering our list profile/trajectory pretty significantly?

Maybe that's why the Jackson article had the KPD one liner in there..

Tis interesting the club has leaked something about Darcy but not Cox is all. If there was a year to force Adelaide to pay egregious overs, it would be this year. Curtin would never go anywhere and with Jackson and Amiss, he'd sure up the spine for a decade

Curtin is doing more at league level already then DGB ever has. Should look him up, worth watching the Claremont final from the weekend to see him and how he plays

Whilst I’ll admit I haven’t seen all that much of the Victorian kids play, it seems bizarre he isn’t going at least pick 2 imo. The guy is an absolute jet.

And yes, I’m aware that Amiss was drafted between Jackson and now - that’s how good Curtin is.

As Darcy seems a lock to stay, it’s time for a new stupid hypothetical given Crows supporters think they have a shot at him. IF and I say IF Cox said he’s thinking about heading back, if you can guarantee Curtin, do you pull the trigger?

yeah in a hypothetical where we turn Cox wanting out into definitely getting Curtin then would have to take it, outcome wise don’t think you could top that

The only trade rumours I’ve seen have been mostly Adelaide fans wanting him because crows have been interested in him every year

Now I will say I haven’t seen him at u18 level, and I assume he dominates massively there.
But he kinda reminded me of Heath Chapman a bit?
I’ve watched the highlights of Mckercher, Reid, Watson and Durssma and I reckon all 4 players would add a lot more to freo over the next 3 or 4 seasons than Curtin.

Controversial and a premature take? Maybe. Normally I don’t like making grand definitive statements on draftees yet to play an afl game as one can inevitably end up looking stupid. But that’s my initial feeling anyway. I’m probably miles off.

Agree Curtin is powerful but a touch slow from the one game I’ve seen him play. Durssma is the one that looks next level.

Seen a bunch of highlights on YouTube... gun and I want him, bad.

Seems to have everything, good kick, tall, looks like he can put on some serious size, pretty agile and fairly quick for his size and seems super competitive, as in, he's got that dawg in him that I like to see.

Cox was pretty disappointing this year and I would gladly give him up IF we could guarantee this bloke.

Seems like someone that could play midfield/forward though. Although I do like what I see from him as a defender.

Problem is WC want him just as bad. Recent Claremont game WC recruiters looking on. They will likely trade with North and pick him up at selection 2.
