Looks like the honeymoon period for cuddly Ross is over and we're back to going at each others throats as the impending doom of the season draws closer. 40 blokes out, Ross sharing the gameplan with the entire competition, Bassat walking around barefoot, it's all happening.

Let's leave the arguments for after we lose by 12 goals on Sunday xo
Nah, open up the autopsy thread so we can get an early start.

Even worse than that. One flag each before the grand final in 1971. 13 to one 51 years later.
That was a hard one to take, in the outer with a couple of Hawthorn mates, start off last 1/4 near the fence by the end I was about 20 rows back. F#@%ing football, why do we do it?

Top 10 picks are not guaranteed to drag you back up the ladder.
They help but you don’t want to count on it, good development wins out every time.
McCartin
Billings
Clark
Coffield
Not having a shot at them but how did that go getting us up the ladder.
Exactly right. And the 2 best mids to come out of Freo in the last decade have been Fyfe (pick 20) and Neale (pick 58)

Top picks obviously help, but shrewd drafting and development are more important

With Caminiti 19 y.o (debut), Owens 19 y.o, Phillipou 18 y.o (debut) & Cordy stillllll apparently hungover from mad-monday, surely can't be expecting a lot from our key forward set-up. Just hope that Butler, Gresham & Higgins can all, absolutely go off & kick 5 goals each.
And hopefully Byrnes, Bytel & Clark's good form over the pre-season, means that our midfield is more potent.

No Acres, Lobb or Mundy, Fyfe playing forward, not sure about them being stronger.
Jackson at a minimum cancels out Lobb, their other bigs are healthier/improved on last year. I’m an acres fan but not sure he’s a loss, Mundy was incredible but was finished, have added O’Meara. Youngsters all another pre-season more mature and improved.
Fyfe playing forward is no negative…
