Then we have Coll Casey and GC to finish. Tough.

He’s trying to hang on until Voss leaves …I really hope Carlton re-sign Dow for atleast another year. 23 years old. He’s growing exponentially. When he finally gets a full game he won’t leave the senior side. Nor should he. His forward craft is improving too. I’d easily have him in the seniors ahead of Curnow, Kennedy Cuningham Fogarty and Hewett right now.
I know he owes the club nothing but he may look back on these last few years glowingly if he finally gets a decent crack. I don’t want to see him flourish in a st kilda or Richmond jumper. He’s the biggest bargain in the afl right now.

You’re right, he did apply good pressure on the kick insNot sure what you were watching his movement from the kick ins to
Force inside 50 turnovers was elite. Directly responsible for 3-4 goals plus many more attempts at goal just from this action alone.

We actually had 3 First Round draft picks in our back half today - Marchy, Plow and Durdin - as well as a couple of Second Round picks in Cow and McMahon.I hope Plowman gets a go at another club. Too good for VFL level imo. Has neat disposal and defends well - could do a job at another club. Would keep him as depth if we could but doubt it happens
If I can be pedantic, Cincotta SSP, not mid seasonWe actually had 3 First Round draft picks in our back half today - Marchy, Plow and Durdin - as well as a couple of Second Round picks in Cow and McMahon.
Ironically, our AFL side this week have 2 players originally selected in the Rookie Draft - Newman and Saad - and 2 more from the Mid Season Draft - Cincotta and Boyd.

OMG, how could I have been so stupid....give yourself a gold star CB, and a slap to the back of my head.If I can be pedantic, Cincotta SSP, not mid season![]()
Happier with the Cinc selection.OMG, how could I have been so stupid....give yourself a gold star CB, and a slap to the back of my head.
It only seems like yesterday when I headed to the pre season open training session all excited to see Oleg Markov running around with the boys, only to be shattered when I heard on SEN he'd signed with the filth the previous night.
I'm still not sure who would have been the better selection out of him and Cincotta - but the fact that Markov had done a medical with us the week before suggests we were primed to draft him.
I can't understand the logic of Carlton(Voss) seemingly pushing a young, improving burst-mid, who is clearly our best fringe player out the door for sfa.I really hope Carlton re-sign Dow for atleast another year. 23 years old. Then scramble for draft picks or pay up for a Free Agent to secure another developing midfielder.
The weekly Dow moaning will only increase when he's carving up opponents at another club next season.
I'm holding back a bit with the coach criticism, waiting to see if we continue to 'take the game on' for the final 9 games. He can't coach. Only way he makes it as a good senior coach is if he has really good assistants around him and he listens to them, lets them make the calls and he is just a conduit between them and the players. They make they decisions, he's the enforcer.
When everyone was embracing the new rules and modern game with leg speed, intensity and high pressure he was selecting the slowest team he could with a side of non-tacklers. When everyone was embracing fast direct ball movement we were moving the ball slower and wider than anyone.
Cant setup a forward structure with two Coleman medallists that can kick goals.
Player development has gone backwards because he does not believe players should have secondary positions. He does not rotate the midfield. He does not pick the best team for the modern game each week. He has insane experiments where he plays guys who have no attributes for a position in that position while not trying players who have those attributes.
He just can not coach. And you're right, we will get to see Dow playing good footy in another AFL team next year, probably as a mid who goes forward as he should be for us.
Watching Voss coach and waiting for him to get it and improve has been one big shitshow. Last AFL game was good, looked like it might have clicked, then the team was selected and we're back in it again.

If you are basing this on our season so far, it may have merit, but I am surprised you of all people are making assumptions on the inner sanctumHe can't coach. Don’t bother mate, there are those that see what they want to see and that’s that. They’ll try and find any reason to back up their claim, twist a narrative, back track… whatever. So that’s a no, kicked it 60 on the run, flat and hard today - definition of a penetrating kick.
Was the only player kicking it well against the wind when they played down the bay into a gale. Barely hit it from the set shots he kicked today.
He kicks the ball bloody hard these days.
I wish people would start watching the games & actually paying attention to what he’s doing now vs their preconceived ideas.

Pretty sad that grown adults would rather die on a hill, than admit they’re wrong… Voss included. Egoism at its finest.
Thanks for the overview on the draftees, GBatman. Just to clarify, when you say Cowan struggled to find the ball early, do you mean in this game? Or in his career to date?Dow, Binns, Cowan and Motlop putting their hands up for selection.
I'm happy with most of our draftees.
Binns looks like a really good selections, going to be a good player. Cowan struggled to find the footy early but his numbers are on the up. Love his pace and kicking ability. Lemmy going to be a slow burn, probably another year or two before he plays AFL. Hollands of course not playing in this but very impressive for a first year player and Cincotta who is playing AFL has been an inspired choice.
I wonder whether Cowan could play a wing or forward role? Terrific runner and kick and genuine natural footballer.
Isn’t Dow injured ?Dow, Binns, Cowan and Motlop putting their hands up for selection.

Someone on TC said he got injured late in the gameplayed a full game, BOG.
Could be a concussing is the last few seconds, there was a head clash. It's on the replay, not sure of the result of it, hopefully not a concussion.Someone on TC said he got injured late in the game

Never been good enough at AFL level yet finished top 5 in our B&F 3 times? The problem with Plowman is that he’s too good at VFL level but has never been good enough at AFL during his time at the club. He‘s in no man’s land and will be off at seasons end.
Plow has also been busting his butt to change up and adapt his game.Never been good enough at AFL level yet finished top 5 in our B&F 3 times?
