Whatever it takes. Sell the Danny Frawley Centre if you have to.I don't think Zac Butters is really on the cards, but for argument sake, let's say it is, what do we have to do to get the trade capital to get him?
I think he's 28 & will go to EssendonHaynes is a no from me - 31 years old, doesn't play a position of need, would be costly. I don't even think it is worth it if a first round was coming with him and nothing of real value coming from us. In his position I'd rather back in who we already have.
We can try that for sure. I’m sure if it were as easy as easy to find talented mids late in the draft or in the mid season draft everyone would be doing it though.Well then, we should draft a midfielder who is unlikely to be drafted then - say, someone like Jai Newcombe.
He was overlooked in his draft year wasn't he ? Seems to go OK ?

I don't think we're luring any big midfielder, we have to Draft our talentGWS at the moment have picks 6 & 9, then nothing to 47. I dont think they have any academy kids coming in this year? So for them to give up a 1st round pick would be a big ask, even if they were to get Clark and Hayne's salary of their books. They would also be one of the clubs talking to WCE about their No 1 pick.
For the Saints to take on Haynes reported at 1.2m next year it would put a huge dent in our ability to chase a quality midfielder. I guess if the club were to get pick 6 or 9 in the deal perhaps they think they can get a decent midfielder with that pick? I guess if we miss out on Flanders, Parish etc the draft is the way to go.
Be interested in who we look like bringing out from Ireland? Did I hear that Nick Walsh was involved in the player signing for us? Did he return to Ireland after he left the club?
If Flanders, Parish and Smith are out of the question, we should be.Surely we're not going for Worpedo
I can't see any way Giants would be giving up a top 10 pick for Clark, even with a second going back.I don't think we're luring any big midfielder, we have to Draft our talent
With the Draft in mind.
Out: Clark + our 2nd.
In: Haynes + Pick 9.
2 picks in the Top 12 or so is fantastic in any Draft, back Toce in.
Gresham out for compensation, on traded to Freo for Henry.

Huge salary dump incentive for them is the prime driver.I can't see any way Giants would be giving up a top 10 pick for Clark, even with a second going back.
I know he is 31 and can go any clubI think he's 28 & will go to Essendon
I'll tell his dad on Saturday at golf that he's 31 not 28.The Bible (afltables) says his birthday is 18/5/1992 making him 31 years old.
I'll tell his dad on Saturday at golf that he's 31 not 28.
I think you should if his dad thinks he is 28I'll tell his dad on Saturday at golf that he's 31 not 28.
weird hill to die on. he is definitely 31I'll tell his dad on Saturday at golf that he's 31 not 28.
Harmes is pretty average, my Melbourne supporting mates don't rate him at all
So he was drafted as a 17yo was he , I'm sure you can do the mathI'll tell his dad on Saturday at golf that he's 31 not 28.
I think because Klaatu said "he's 28 and going to Essendon" he actually means Harmes and not Haynes, because that weird headed unit was also being discussed here.I think you should if his dad thinks he is 28

Think Harmes is very underrated, but like Dow at Carlton may look good in a very good midfield. If you have Oliver, Viney, Petracca and others he's pretty s**t but he'd probably play in our best 22. I don't really rate him and don't think he's good enough to take up a spot. Prefer a Crouch or Mathieson. I'd look at Kai Lohmann, Bailey Laurie types too.
Nah , he replied to Punters post about HaynesI think because Klaatu said "he's 28 and going to Essendon" he actually means Harmes and not Haynes, because that weird headed unit was also being discussed here.
Think Ross isn’t very happy with the list. Almost feels like we are about to rebuild again
I’d be very surprised if that’s the road that Ross chooses to go down.
