Apparently we are happy to pay some of his wage. Someone on SEN suggested Dogs are getting Jordon and Billings. Probably get a 3rd round pick and pay him still. Bulldogs do extremely well out of that.

I don’t get the point of paying Billings and only getting a third rounder for it.

Getting only a third whilst still paying his wedge is insane.

Just crazy, watch us get embarrassed again and we’ll hear the usual excuses. I’m sorry but there is no reason at all to do that dumb is just plain dumb. I’m sick of con men with big egos who need to be doing something to show how great they are when sometimes the hard but smart thing is to just stick.

We don’t have a great draft hand and we don’t have any meaningful spare capital to trade. Now that’s hard when you have identified the list as lacking but all the smoke and mirrors is just that. If Gresham and Howard won’t get us what we need in return then all the other rubbish trades won’t hide it. They’re just trading away quality depth at worst and a quality player if fit to make some noise. Speaks volumes about those in charge if this happens and tells me all I need to know about where we‘re heading.

I like to think Musk as being multiple people, there's the left-wing environmentalist Tesla guy that builds poorly put together electric cars at a snails pace and sells them to rich people. Then there's the right-wing social media moral that booted anyone with green hair and/or nose ring and/or didn't sleep at their desk in order to work 25 hours a day. Then you have the centrist Musk digging holes and sending people on a one-way trip to Mars (no doubt Gina will be on board in order to suck up all that iron ore there)

Wouldn't surprise if some of the alleged disagreements between Ross and Lethers came from Ross refusing to play some of Lethers boys.

I'd listen to offers for Ross, Wood and Hill.

Maybe not a tonne of interest but I don't know if we'll miss them in a couple of years time, could generate a pick or valuable pick upgrade.

Trading out Wood is the very definition of buy low trade high.

I know he brings a LOT to the club in terms of culture and standards, and he’s playing fantastic football.

But, the trade off in draft capital could be well worth it. Especially if we think we have players who can step straight into that breach (Windhager/Henry).

I’m not sure if it’s a good call or a bad call or even if we have the 1) the ruthlessness to be able to pull that lever 2) the list management expertise to make it work.

But, listening to the Tradies podcast and how Collingwood got Crisp and De Goey for Beams got me thinking that sometimes trading high can work out well.

Notably, Essendon's 2nd round pick starts at 27 so maybe top 25 also indicates we would want/demand more than their 2nd in a trade if we did end up matching.

Wonder if Essendon would just walk away if we match. They’re likely in it for his zero pick price tag and it’s not like a big club like that will have issues attracting future players because they once left someone hanging.
