We aren't finishing bottom two so we miss out on a player type we don't need anyway. I'm keen on Smith or Draper at pick 3-5. Finn O'Sullivan is the dream get.
Those damn meaningless wins eh?

If we end up with pick 3 or 4, keep on eye on Shanahan, O'Farrell, Faull, The Whitlocks, Mraz, Lockwood and most of all Trainor. Either to take one of them, or to split the pick and grab two. We might end up with the third pick in a three man midfield draft, there's evey chance someone pays up for Jagga or Draper if they're there, or that one of FOS or Smillie is still at our pick. This will be one of the more exciting draft nights in a while I reckon, very even top order with a lot of positional overlap between the best few. Would be great to take advantage of a team desperate for top end midfield talent to get a couple cracks at some KPPs at the top end. Faull especially could be a great pickup, disrupted start to the year and one that might slide if he doesn't get up for the champs, but a good end to the season could lock him in to the first round regardless.

Great tackle technique as well. Just takes out the body.

I wonder if Sizzlesilk has seen much of Frank?

Awesome highlights but they can be deceiving.

Now that is a highlight package!
I am guessing he is available in the mid season draft??
Is this SANFL senior football highlights?
If so how has this lad never been drafted?
From those highlights I cannot say this is the type of player we don’t need!
Very Exciting player but as SSSSSS said highlights can be deceiving?

I don't know much about him just saw the highlight package.
From a quick Google search it looks like he is playing SANFL seniors and got invited to the state combine last year so there must have been a few clubs sniffing around in 2023 at the very least.

Doesn't seem to be setting the world on fire stats wise in the seniors this year but I'm not sure if he's playing up forward or down back in 2024.

Someone raised an interesting point on SM with regards to this weeks game in Launceston and how because it’s down there we’ve got a better chance of winning etc.Do the extra wins we get from the home ground advantage down there actually disadvantage us in the long run ? Do we win games down there that maybe considering how bad our worst performances are we would’ve lost in Melbourne and it masks where we are at realistically? And by winning those extra 2 maybe 3 games a year does it prevent us from gaining access to the real high end talent that our list needs right now , because although we’ve still been getting high picks we’re not getting the best young talent to pick from particularly when you take into account FS and academies we’re getting the next best .

No,
No, and
No.

Top WA draft prospect Bo Allan stepped back from playing senior WAFL into the Colts team this week and was given a chance to show what he can do. His power was simply too much to handle, and his direct attacking approach regularly set up his teammates for scoring opportunities.

Doesnt take long after a win for ppl to start projecting those meaningless wins.

Do we take a punt on Max Hall in the MSD?

People have been talking him up for a while now and he's putting in some seriously impressive numbers at VFL level.

We know Hawthorn loves a Box Hill promotion.

Pure domination in this game from Josh Smillie - a performance worthy of a number one pick. He was unstoppable at stoppage racking up 12 clearances for the game, he applied strong defensive pressure when he didnt find it himself, he set up his teammates by hand and foot, and he even got forward to kick three majors of his own.

After this showing he's now clearly out front in the race to be pick one at the end of the year. Can anybody catch him?

Just feel bad, he has to go to Norf.

Is he, or any other WA talents, a change of becoming top 5 pick?

Where does this kid rate on potential MSD boards?

A midfield unit of Smillie, LDU (if he stays), Wardlaw, McKercher + Sheezel, Powell and Simpkin would be a very talented group that covers all bases (size, strength, skill, class, pace). There is too much talent to not be good.

If they can't make something of that group, there's something very wrong.

The dynamic and powerful Kako continues to impress in 2024. Once he got a couple of early fumbles out of his system his clean marking was a feature in this game, as well as his quick and decisive decision making. He kicked three goals and it could have been more if he'd nailed a couple of relatively straight forward chances late.

Its rare to see such a large discrepancy between and individual and team performance. In a game in which his Chargers team were belted by nearly 100 points, Jagga was unstoppable for most of the day, slicing through stoppages like a surgeon with a scalpel and setting up his team with opportunities they failed to capitalize on. The one criticism you could make is that he contributed to the lack of defensive pressure around the footy by Oakleigh, only laying one tackle for the game.

NOAH HOWES (South Adelaide) Key forward, 18, 196cm

“Noah’s a key forward who has got a lot stronger and bigger over the past eight months or so and is playing some good league footy after finally overcoming some injury issues. He kicked five goals for us as a 16-year-old in an under-18s game against the Eagles and then as a 17-year-old he was nominated as an over-ager for the State under-16 team before suffering stress fractures in his back and missing the rest of the season. Then last year he kicked seven goals in two weeks before breaking his collarbone and missing a fair chunk of the season. Noah got back just before the under-18 finals and had six shots at goal (kicking 3.3) in our grand final win against Sturt. It might feel like he’s come from nowhere this year but it’s just a case of him finally getting a good run at it and having a big pre-season with our senior team. He has a lot of good qualities and upside.’’ – South talent manager and under-18s coach Mark Clayton.
This young bloke could be a sneaky as a mid season draft.
Has kicked 8 goals for South Adelaide in 5 games. Which is a pretty good effort as South are pretty ordinary this year.

Cooper Hynes had a huge game for the Stingrays against the Suns Academy and took out the rookieme player of the week as a result. Cooper is a strong and bullocking mid/fwd who knows how to use his size and strength to gain advantage in marking contests and win contested footy.

Really impressive prospect. Power, height and versatility is mouthwatering for club scouts. Just needs more of the pill to really standout from the pack.
