Players I would consider for SSP in addition to Stephenson:

1. Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier
2. Noah Hibbins-Hargraves
3. Balyn O'Brien
4. Wes Walley
5. Tom Burton
6. Bryce Sanders

I imagine 1,3,6 on my list are easier to do as they are locals. The others depend on whether there's interest. Let at least 4 (incl Stephenson) go head to head for 2 spots.

In the past there have been two signing periods, one starting after the draft and running to the Xmas break, then from mid-January to mid-February.

I'm unsure if it's still the case but there was a limit of 2 players being allowed to audition per list spot, so we could have 4 train-on players if that still holds.

The trial players get paid for training and expenses met if coming from interstate.

No Wan is better than any spud on your list

Serves a purpose when there is depth to the draft.

Gives clubs a look with less of a financial commitment.

Ask Houston or Jonas if it serves a purpose.

Clubs don't pay any of the salaries though, every club gets given the salary via the AFL purse
It's all AFL coin.


I'm not for making the lists smaller
Just make it one list (Cat B rookies can stay, they serve a purpose)
