Exactly. Which is why we will accept the best offer in a trade. We won't turn down a player and a first rounder and take nothing, just because it isn't as much as we'd get if he was contracted
Which is why having a better post than port in the PSD is good for our negotiation.

Luke Ball was taken with pick 30 in the PSD…

If the trade goes ahead i think it will be 2 players and a future 1st.
And 1 of the players need at least to be of good standard and experienced
Won't get to PSD stage

Naz can spend most of the offseason in Adelaide plus we have three games there plus he can spend the bye there plus mum can see him on tv every week. Plus he’ll be rich enough to fly over whenever he feels like it.
He needs to learn to wipe his own botty now that he’s 22 Mrs W-M.

With the port trade I’m not sure the afl will let them trade their future pick. The reason the rule was brought in was to save clubs from selling their future away. They already let them do it jhf. I don’t think the afl will let them do it again. Their future will be cooked, no depth. It would be a very ordinary look from the afl if the put in rules that are effectively as strong as jelly.

It's not like they'd be trading it for Bont, with a few years left. It'd be for a 22 year old superstar who will almost certainly play more games than whoever goes at that draft pick. They will allow it

Gavin returned home after 6 seasons. Clearly, Eddie Sansbury isn't considered Nas' dad. That's what Terry did, who moved back to SA as Gav's sister and him wanted to be near home. Its clear that its the Wanganeen side of the family who have that pull. What complicates things is Tex.

I dont begrudge him and will never call a kid, especially a young indigenous kid a mummy's boy. I am desperate for him to stay, but we are all pretty ignorant when it comes to his culture and family situation.

The pressure on him from everyone including his best mate must be intense. How he is performing the way he is is actually incredible and a testament to his mental strength and ability.

I agree. Nas is thriving now largely because he is our designated 'make something happen' guy. If he calls for the ball, most of the time he is getting it and he has licence to go anywhere.

If he goes to Port he might not even be playing midfield. And even if he is, he will be joining a stacked midfield and won't be the teams' entire game plan like he is now.

Adelaide is a similar story.
Correct.

NWM would be bonkers if he left St Kilda. One of the reasons he has developed so quickly is because he is the centrepiece of the team and has the trust of his teammates and coaches.

He should remember, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

Or, as the other old saying goes, “you never know what you’ve lost until it’s gone.”

I suspect if he leaves Saints he will come to regret it.

No, he went in the national draft. And was an injury plagued player who refused to do a medical anywhere except for Collingwood.
I stand corrected on the PSD comment, I thought that a player could not nominate for that once they had been listed.

I don’t agree with you on the use of the picks in negotiation or that there is any prospect of him playing for another club outside of us and SA though. But so be it, we don’t need to agree.

My misses had an apt point, "all you guys do on that forum is suck each other off. No one has any actual information".

Hard to argue with that. 🤣

It would be another tool saints could use. Put pressure on the afl to not allow it to force them to give up a top line player.

I might be alone here, but with Nas, I get the vibe that football success means more to him than being up the road from family, not that both aspects would be worlds apart

I reckon if we were top 3 flag favorite for the next few years, there would be no way he'd be leaving

The fact that's it's debatable of who has the brighter future between Saints and Port, brings the family allure into consideration

With the wild card being the Crows, especially if they don't win the flag this year, as it is a very lame move to piggy back on the premiers (and possibly isolating for the player)

I see him as a determined winner more than anything else

And if he was the standard of a Keeler, Henry or any other Indigenous kid in the AFL system on the minimum wage living away from their home city who may not get another contract, what should they do.

She doesn't know what she's talking about. Very few people on this forum have done that to me.... hardly any really.... like 4 or 5 tops..... but that's it.... so joke's on her.

🤣 Well said.
Jesus, I just don't get this "homesick" nonsense at all. It's Adelaide...not the f*cking frozen Tundra of Greenland.
In the modern world one can talk to and see their family through all sorts of modern mechanisms. It's not like you have to raise pigeons and attach little notes to their tiny f*cking legs hoping the Golden horde of Ghengis Kahn doesn't shoot it down to feast upon its flesh and find out where you live. Times have moved on...possibly even improved depending on opinion.
Be a grown man, Be your own man.
Mum will still be there.
Agree I moved interstate and I’m in my 20s it’s the best thing I’ve ever done, he needs to go get some girls and stop being a virgin

If Terry is seriously saying that to a stranger then maybe they've accepted that he isn't coming home. If he was then I really doubt he'd be saying that.

My confidence is growing that he will re-sign. Just really hoping it's for four years and not two. Lock in the cash Nas!

As an afterthought might need to do a wellness check on the Port board when it happens.
