When why haven’t Essendon and Carlton been given unfair advantages in order to kick start their rebuilds? They’ve been worse than St Kilda has been.

None of those 3 mean anything. The AFL isn’t trying to hold St Kilda down, we are doing it to ourselves. The AFL wants every team to have their moment in the sun.
Kidding right?
Marquee games - Anzac Day. Dreamtime game.
Thursday and Friday night time slots.
That’s advantage anyway you look at it.

It does all mean nothing, given the equalization measures. That’s why St Kilda gets a larger share of money from the AFL, to make up for stadium differentials.
It’s woefully inadequate and we are constantly criticised for it. It stops us attracting bigger sponsorship deals and puts us firmly at the behest of the AFL. Living hand to mouth as a result of AFL favouring the big clubs is no way to live.

Anyhow, the CEO and his team are aware of it and a knowledge it, so at least we are finally taking action about it, and the ensuing media outrage in some quarters is telling. What was the first thing the AFL mouth pieces showed when we criticised the Neppo Babies extra draft picks? They showed the amount of equalisation payments StKilda were provided relative to all other clubs, the inference being it was all our fault. But as you stated above, they are to deal with the AFL led inequalities.

So, to your original questions, this is just one example of why certain quarters of the AFL MAY seek to hold us down.

Batten down the hatches boys - we’re under siege today!
Pity we cancelled that tank order 😬

A larger share of money does not mean bums on seats in great time slots, prime time games at the G to help increase membership or sponsorship.

It’s just money. And gives them permission to give us the crappyiest fixture with plenty of back to back travel. Have you been awake to the fixture the last couple of years. We are the Cinderella of the league. Playing with one hand toed behind our backs.

If Saints fans went to the footy, we’d get better time slots and prime time games.

And every time we got given one of those slots, we not only lost the match, we didn’t show up.

Whose fault is that?
Have you noticed Carlton and Essendon on the big stage - multiple times this year?
Sorry, ridiculous argument 🙄

They’ve earned those marquee games. We haven’t. We could have locked in the Good Friday match, we bottled it.

We could have locked in the Anzac Day game, we bottled it. The China game was ridiculous, but we bottled that as well.

Any time the AFL extends to us the chance to secure a marquee match and we can’t even be competitive on the day.

That isn’t the AFLs fault.

Do you really think Ross will give an honest answer or will he get all cryptic and talk in riddles as per normal ? This is a serious question
Bit of both. Given it's Footy Classified, he will be given a runway to say what he wants more so then if it was AFL360 but it's not a Ross interview without some riddles in there.

Carlton and Essendon haven’t earned shit and have been bad for at least a decade longer than we have. They have a bigger supporter base from the VFL days when the competition made no attempt at equalization and that is what carries them to this day.

Would rather have Reid for 12 then Nas for (maybe?) 2.

Excited to see the club making moves.

The core senior players we've had have taken us nowhere and I'm honestly happy we're looking to be aggressive and make change.

Of course in an ideal world we'd lock Nas down but if we CAN'T - we can turn him into moveable assets for a player like Reid, it's a win win.

Why does the Reid offer make me think Nas has told us he’s not staying and to make other arrangements

I’m so ****ing tired of this club being a walking joke

Doubt it. Pretty sure we were up to our eyeballs in Reid along time back. Keep in mind we have a massive war chest and we could keep Nas and also bring in Reid.

Personally, I think the odds of us getting Reid are about as high as Wilkie being traded.

That’s a good way to look at it.
