Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

I’m guessing you weren’t at the ‘97 Grand Final? After the siren their fans were feral pricks more keen on taunting us than celebrating their win screw them

i was there and the biggest a holes i saw was one essendon fan and a group of saints fans,dickhead essendon bloke kept on calling out carn the bombers,he was a mate of these saints ferals,nice saints woman in front of me was with her father i guess,she allowed 2 crows supporting little kids to stand with them so they could see the game

this feral group of 2 girls and 3-4 guys come by and for some reason her and the one girl were in each others hair,it looked a mismatch in her favor so the other bigger girl got into it,then a scumbag male poured his drink on this woman,the father got into it,this bomber idiot with them was still calling out carn the bombers,he got into an altercation with some bloke,only verbal,then as he went out of sight i think punches were being thrown over that way,these ferals quickly set off after him to presumably help him out

in my area it was not crows fans playing up

all this happened early in third,by the time it was over so was the game pretty much

On the other hand he says Marshall’s contract has been front ended and most of it has already been paid.

Clearly, the latter means that the former doesn’t need to apply.

Cleary then acknowledges that St Kilda will demand that Geelong ponies up in any trade because Marshall’s contract has been accounted for in previous salary caps.

Either way I think he wants out and I’d be asking for future picks if it’s the Cats, their pick this year is no good and it’s an average draft so try to get at least 1 future 1st and I’d be happy.

Or demand a good player from Geelong.

Well if we can't have any trust whatsoever in anything from the media, might as well shut down this thread!

Pretty much everything here has origins in something a media commentator said somewhere.

The point remains about salaries and the figures quoted by the media. Been widely quoted the AFLPA did analysis of the top 100 paid players in 2024, as per the code/herald sun rich list. It was 30% accurate (even when they have a $100k range).

Now, I’m no expert on player salaries and only studied a couple of finance subjects at uni, but at a pinch I reckon I could go pretty close to getting somewhere near 30%.

I would nearly do Pick 10 for Wilkie and Pick 17 for Marshall (I know they would get pushed back)

If we could turn Wilkie into Flanders and keep our pick 7 and Geelongs first rounder it’s good for our list profile.

Both are contracted so if they weren’t offering their first picks no deal.
