and hustwaite seems a really exciting player

but our list manager is useless so i don’t see it happening.

This is stark. Either we over rated these picks and the players just weren't that elite, or our development program has sucked. Or both.

Development has always been the problem at the roos.

A proper high end pick could be traded for a better player. Pick 21 gets you Griffen Logue pick 3 might tempt clubs to trade someone better

I agree but it’s part of the equation. Watch WCE get a compensation package way better than we received, or god forbid Richmond or Carlton have 3-4 consecutive poor years.

I actually think the AFL should act sooner with this if they want clubs to remain competitive, however it opens up abuse of the system.

I suspect they will slide back to making it a bit better/easier than what we got. At the end of the day there’s certain clubs they can’t afford to have travelling poorly.

frost was a pretty good defender who played almost every game last year, only got forced out cause of battle and barras.

yes hh is having a bad few games but he was killing it in the vfl earlier on in the season, shows a lot of potential

if u dont think jiath is better then daniel maybe footy isnt for you

Of course he is better (Jiath)... that isn't the statement or the question!


He's not better than Hardeman. He's not better than Archer. He probably won't be better than Goater should he get a decent run at it.

McDonald/Daniel are fighting it out to be the 4th small defensive option in line for our tilt at 2027. This really should be our mindset going forward.

7 or 8 players will go. 2-3 rookies so our 8 rookies become at least 6 at a maximum.
Our main list of 38 needs to become 32 to open up 3-4 spots for trade and draft, list would be 36 main - 6 rookies
But could also be 37 main-5 rookies if KD, Teakle and Payne go. I doubt we'd cut back to 4 rookies and 38 main spots.

Haha, I'm sure Vossy's licking his chops at the prospect of trading his contracted Coleman medallist for our two second rounders.

For me that highlights our recruiting at late ND, rookie or MSD picks has been poor.
That's why I don't really buy into this thinking that another high end pick would get us out of this mess.
Time to find some role players and elite players outside the first round like a competent recruiting team should do.
Max Holmes and Freijah were 20's and 40's picks, so no reason you can't find them and develop them later.

This should be stuck where Goad put the tv yesterday.

Do we all see Harvey, Konstanty, Zurhaar, Curtis all playing in the one forward line next year?

I really like it.

Konstanty needs more offense, Harvey more defense, and we need to use Zurhaar and Curtis for spurts in the midfield. Then it can work.

I'd like to see us running with three talls (including second ruckman) as a default.

We also have George to hopefully fit in at some point.

Due to our performances this season our Future First could be enticing to Vossy for Curnow if we decide to go down that path...

Maybe even look at including Scott or Powell as well...and get some of their picks back in return or a player as well...

Let’s not restrict ourselves here. Orazio Fantasia might want a fresh scene away from Vossy. And last year some punters here were banging on about the mystery visit from Nat Fyfe.

I imagine when restless players contact their managers looking for a new home it works this way.

• AFL regular with plenty of miles still left in the tank. Any club except Wet Toast, Tigers and Kangas.
• AFL hack who is on the nose and surplus to requirements. May also be on some crazy money being offloaded from their books. I have Rawlings and Clarko on speed dial. You want 3 or 4 years?
