these guys are ready to rip shit up this year:

Larkey
Sheezel
McKercher
LDU

Would have Hardeman not far off this either, was clinical early.

X looked active around the ground.
Curtis looks great considering his off season health stuff.

Dovaston got involved today in quite a bit which was good to see.
The midfield, which was competitive if not better than a lot of other midfields in 2025, is ready to hit elite status.

The problem continues to be the defensive system and ability to prevent transition and cause turnovers.

Let’s hope LitttleBigJohn has weaved his magic.

i also went down for a gander, i liked what i saw ( but at this time of year i should ) stand outs for me.

Sheezel, did Sheez things he is a gun !
LDU, was very good in particular around he Centre work.
FOC, has improved a lot since last year, he will have a big impact on why we will improve this year.
The Cap, was a monster up forward,.
for those who think Pink is a spud, he will be a rock down back as will Chom.

Goad is getting better every time i see him, keep in mind with our Sim matches he is up against BIG X and most will have issues competing with him.

others that were good Banch,Trembath,Parker, Logue, Hardeman, Mckercher,

My concern is still our back line, FGS please don't let Daniel take kick outs from the square, he still goes from one side to another that just gives the forwards time to set up, he is OK around the ground but crap with kick ins.

Over all they looked to move the ball very fast out of defense, and at times it look beautiful to watch.

that's just my take.

Where’s Wardlaw?
waldo GIF

Somewhere in there….

How's Whitlock looking?

If you had to rate the key defenders who is where out of Logue, Comben, Pink & Dawson?
Whitlock has been solid , Missed a couple of contested grabs but has kicked a couple of goals . Has a high footy IQ .

Comben the standout for me

I will say Daniel to Hardeman in the backline wasn’t an uncommon play and that worked pretty well as he has the the vision, aggressive ball movement and kicking depth to make things happen. Far cry from the 15m kick to LMAC or Walker right in the pocket then donuts.

Wardlaw only played the first couple of sessions for the one who asked. Saw him running laps afterwards. Probably one of a few just being managed.

Re: Backline question above. Pretty clearly pink, Comben & Logue as preferred to my eye.

Comben was not messing around. Stand by my comment a few days ago that he has the kicking to go with his aerial attack. Could be a weapon if Pink can remain solid and Logue plays to his capabilities.

When did he obtain this kicking quality? It sure as hell wasn't last year

Wonder who is leading the race for the small forward spot/s out of Banch, Konstanty and Dovva.
I didn’t even notice Konstanty today. Might not have played or I just missed him. Banch was lively til Comben mauled him but Dovaston probably had the most impact (a good thing for us IMO).

It’s there, but then so was his forward marking except in the AFL. He’s a clean, neat kick with good range (technically). Whether he can do that in real scenarios is the big question.

Banch and Konstanty are lively and work hard. Dov has a level of class they don't.

I think 2 will play going off preseason so far. Probably the hardest to call.

It's exciting imo. First time in a long long time that we have had some genuine competition for small forward spots. Each of them have their own positive attributes too.

Some competition for that particular spot is overdue
