When our recruits this decade outside the 1st 2 rounds include such household names as Edwards, Payne, K.Dawson, P.Walker, Sellers, Drury - excuse me if Banch and Trembath feel like landing prime age Akermanis and Lockett by comparison.

I don’t know but I’d pay good money to see the haphazard version where the crowd realises it’s time to play because Zurhaar has just given the Melbourne runner a dead leg and PC’s wedgied the umpire.

I’m inclined to back in every player as soon as they don the blue and white. However, it seems strange to me that there seems to be more excitement around possible supplementary players than listed draftees. On the face of it, these mature players would be expected to deliver at the same level as Toby Pink. However, Toby is a special case - he delivers well beyond his apparent talent. So, realistically, aren’t we getting excited about, more than likely, sub-Pink prospects? I’m more than happy to be “schooled” on this subject.

Our list is by no means a finished product, particularly in the back half.

We now have other opportunities (on the back of bad luck to Thredgold and Archer) to build the list through other means, like the SPP and MSD.

Other clubs have struck gold with the likes of McCarthy and Durham, it’s also looking likely we’ve done well with Trembath.

We’d be silly not to have annother throw ant the stumps with a couple of prospects in the hope of getting at least a physically mature role player who can contribute from the get go.

100%. Even if he plays the year and never plays seniors, it'll only make the VFL squad better and give our kids someone to learn off.

100% agree. However, I’m struggling to be as excited about it as some are. I’m not knocking it. Well, obviously, I am. It’s not something I’d die on a hill for.
