So to sum up:
Elijah Tsatas is a talented young midfielder who can find the ball but is currently struggling to convert that into AFL standard impact due to:
Whilst there’s potential, especially in clearance work, serious doubts remain about his physicality, versatility, and whether his style suits the modern game or Essendon’s current midfield need.
- below average kicking,
- lack of defensive work rate,
- and limited endurance.
Fair?
Good thing you didn't use Grok...I won't lie I did use it to sum up the page![]()

If he works on his endurance, should help his defensive work rate.So to sum up:

He needs to take a leaf out of Nic Martin's book and get a personal trainer over the summer break. If he works on his endurance, should help his defensive work rate.
2 birds with one stone.
He’s got one. Works pretty hard in the off season. He needs to take a leaf out of Nic Martin's book and get a personal trainer over the summer break.

Doesn’t show in his game at all. Must jog around with no intensity, reinforcing muscle memory. He’s got one. Works pretty hard in the off season.

No one was kicking the tyres. The only option was to stay. He was 100% "getable" if someone was interested.Staying which is the right call acc Twomey
We dont know thatNo one was kicking the tyres. The only option was to stay. He was 100% "getable" if someone was interested.
is he backup if he gets on the field as much as he does?Backup for Parish, that is all IMO.
DudeWe dont know that
Well that depends on what contacts we have. you can please yourselfWe dont know that
Still behind an in form Parish by a long way but who knows if Parish can ever put a decent string of games together.is he backup if he gets on the field as much as he does?
Meant nobody was whinging about how bad he is when he's not in the AFL*Him being injured meant no one was whining about him not being picked for four whole weeks - which I think might be a record for this thread.
Of all the things to criticise him for, you criticise his work ethic? The guy who stays back after training to work on his kicking every week?I hope it motivates him to have a big preseason. With McGrath, Kako, Roberts etc. getting some opportunities in centre bounce, there’s even more competition because they can play in other areas too. You’d think at least one of the early picks will be a mid as well.
He wouldn’t be on a big contract so he can keep having 40 in the vfl if he doesn’t work on his game. I know he was a pick five but Dodoro isn’t here anymore so I don’t think the club cares about cutting their losses. He actually needs to play well too because clearly clubs aren’t too keen now.
