Haha. One of the more fanciful posts I've read.

Daniel Rich would struggle to get a game in GWS's midfield for the next three years? Ahahaha...

Not for the next 3 years, in 3 years time. Not that I think he WOULD struggle, but I was just pointing out that staying at Brisbane would be the right career move, they won't have anything like the calibre of youngsters coming through the side that GWS will, hence more chance of him keeping a midfield spot. It's certainly possible that if he does go to GWS he may find himself down the pecking order in the future. That's all I was saying.

If he wanted team success then he's got better odds at GWS. Brisbane & GWS are both in similar situations only GWS has a bit of a head start and will have higher quality kids coming through. With those recruits being of a similar age to Rich, he'd be growing with the team and they'd be reaching their peak at the same time which would give them (ideally) a 5 year window in a few years time. Brisbane on the other hand, still have Brown, Power & Black to come out of the side, replacing them won't be easy, then they've got to contend with comprimised drafts, they sold off the 2009 draft for mature age recruits. Where's the quality going to come from?

Oooh, one draft (in which we still had second and third round picks). Whoop.

As for where the quality is going to come from?

Leuenberger
Rockliff
Clark
Rich
Redden
Banfield
Cornelius
Polec
Green
Polkinghorne
Hanley
Bartlett
Harwood
Bewick
Karnezis
Lester
Beams

Is a pretty decent list of young players to build around, yeah without context they are just names, but I could say the same about the Sydney list.

Not to mention we will likely have another couple of years of top 10 draft picks plus we still have two end first round compensation picks in the bank.

Despite losing Brennan, Rischitelli and Sherman we still have some quality in that mid age tier too... Adcock, Staker, McGrath, Merrett, Patfull, Drummond...

We're okay thanks.

Head start? They're not even in the comp!

IMO
Josh Hill
Taylor Walker
Rhys Palmer
Beau Waters
Mitch Clark
Nathan Jones
will be signed by the end of the season.

Murphy won't go, turned down an offer to go to the Lions under the FS rule because he wanted to stay in Victoria. Scully I reckon will re-sign with the Demons, just holding out until the end of the season for more money.
