"The Dockers are usually figuring out what to do with their top 4 pick but this time they pick a lot later due to their success." What a tosser, the last 4 years we've won 14 games, 11 games, 11 games and 15 this year. Certainly not dominating the competition but a long way from a bottom 4 pick.

"Fremantle like to take the best WA players and Gary Moss would be a useful pickup." We've drafted more kids from Vic Country than WA in the last few years. Hopefully if Moss and Collard are both available at 13 we take the latter.

moss is meant to be a pretty classy player.

i wonder who west coast could get with our pick, hopefully we dont trade it for tarrant.

If we draft Moss i hope Fremantle has sent him for bone scans or done body measurements. If he is unlikely to grow at all, steer clear, if he's got 4-5cm left in him, he would be a great pick.

Not that bad at all. I'd take Hislop first, not convinced about Collard.

I'm reacting like Brian Taylor to Leon Davis with this continual talk that Collingwood will end up with Joel Selwood, but I think he will end up going higher.

If Josh Kennedy went #4 last year when he was just about to go in for a shoulder reconstruction, as opposed to getting over one, Beau Dowler still went at #6 despite smashing his hip in a car accident just before the draft, and Mitch Clarke went #9 after contracting meningococcal, then I think teams will look past Selwood's knee injury.

can sum1 please tell me y mackenzie and reid are always compared and people are sayings its either reid or mackenzi ??? would like to no thanks

According to that, look like selewood is going to become a magpie!

Yeah but last years draft didn't have that many "slam dunk" standout talents, Kennedy was one of those and was always going to be top 5. Perhaps clubs may rank the likes of Proud, Riewoldt, Sellar, Leunberger the same as Selwood and the injury being a tie-breaker of sorts? Also I've heard Selwood described as not having great pace, perhaps clubs might think he can't afford to lose any more pace. Although knee recos don't always affect players pace. Tarkyn Lockyer had two and he is slooooow, his burst of pace used to be pretty handy. Licuria was always average pace, had two recos and is still pretty average paced. R.Shaw had one and has hardly lost any of his pace.

Hopefully one of Selwood, Proud, Loin Burger falls to us. I like the sound of those mids and the big ruckman, and what I've seen of Riewoldt jr I really like.

He's probably faster than someone like Scott West, so as an inside mid, he's quick enough.

Tarkyn has only had one knee reco...

Please stop calling him Loin Burger... It brings very disturbing images to mind.

They've got St Kilda taking Renouf with pick 9, with Proud going to Sydney at pick 15! Got no bloody idea. Going for the overused media line about St Kilda having no ruckmen and not paying attention to the fact that two members of our already under-stocked midfield have just retired.

Thought you were trying to tell us all that mcGough was the answer to your midfield woes!

why would essendon want Matthew Leuenberger?
we have Hille, Laycock, Patrick Ryder and Tristan cartledge
I would prefer lachlan hansen

there is no way richmond will take riewoldt with their first pick, & there is no way essendon will take leuenberger with pick 2.

Oh good, another mock draft linking Port with Sellar at 5 primarily because he's a South Australian. *sigh*

At least he is around that mark.
What about the continual crap we got fed last year re: Austin Lucy, was never going to be our 1st in 2005.
I went purple in the face trying to explain it.

Just goes to show how much credence we should take in the 20 or so mock drafts that will appear in the next month.
Even bigger 'sigh' ;)

I hope by "mock" draft they mean "funny" draft.

Hurley? I'd rip my eyeballs out if we did that in rd 1.

Can't see the both the Brown boys being drafted by Carlton at 17 & 19. We still need some midfield depth.

HBF i thought you were being funny for a second, now i see that you were referring to the latest picks in this mock draft, or should we call it a shock draft, or maybe a mock-umentary? It is appalling, whoever is doing this should take it down in shame.

Just what Carlton need, two more slowish (Ok Mitch isn't so slow) gorilla types at the expense of best available which is likely to be ball carriers which we need more....have these guys seen the Bullants side? Where is our midfield depth?

Good grief, to make matters worse i just saw that they have us passing on Clayton Collard for Nathan Brown !!!

Agree we wont take a ruckman with pick two. Laycock and Cartledge may well go from our list but that wont change anything as they Will go with a combo of Hille and Ryder/Bradley in the ruck.

That is a very strange mock draft. I don't think they've even considered each clubs needs correctly.

Top 5 is pretty close though.
