Well done Swans. Will win easily next week. Prelim against Adelaide will go a long way to determine the premier this year.

"What a great season - From wooden spoon into the finals"

I suppose the return of the banished ped players would of helped with that resurgence seeing as they had made the finals the year before.

Thank **** this is the end of the afl propaganda "feel good storyline"
As much as id like to believe this ,sadly i dont think it will be .....the afl media/propaganda machine have no shame or comprehension, this dead horse will still be in for a few more floggings yet...sigh

Did I say that they're going to be stars? We had a s**t start absolutely but picked up the pieces after the break. Win an extra 2-3 games and we would have been in the finals..... which doesn't really speak too highly of the standard of the current competition. You just worry about what your team does ..... you haven't won anything yet.
if we won 3 more, we'd be playing the Eagles at the G today.

Never really like Longmire mainly due to the swans usually giving Essendon a flogging, but thought his effort in shaking the hands of several Essendon playersc current and retiring after the game was a really nice gesture :thumbsu:

Elimination final in 2014 more indicative than your 2016
But why is it more indicative than 2015?

This is a vastly different team to our 2014 team. Ryder and Carlisle have left. Heppell is our main inside midfielder, not Watson. Merrett and Daniher has played one and two seasons respectively. Hooker was in defence. Stanton was still playing. Goddard was in his prime. Begley, Fantasia, Tippa, Hartley, Gleeson, Ambrose, Stewart and Parish has either never played less than 5 games for the club, if any at all.

It is, for all intents and purposes, a rebuild of the list. Our scope for improvement is much greater than the losses we'll have in Watson and Kelly, and the continued decline of Goddard.

Losing sucks but we are undeniably on the way up. Looking forward to getting more games into the kids next year too. And even though it is incredibly disheartening to be thrashed in an Elim final, we did far better than most predicted this year. See you next year.
