Freo defence were excellent and Ryan was clearly Best on Ground even though I think he played as the extra all night.

Essendon were not disgraced, fought the game out okay, but never really felt like they were any serious chance of winning the game after their hot start in the first quarter.

Probably a year or two behind Freo in their rebuild tbh.

The Dockers taught us a lesson in overhead, contested and intercept marking.
We suck at it and have for a while, they knew this coming into the game and used it to their advantage. They figured us out. They know we choose a small running style list that fumble it a lot above chest height and took to the clouds because it’s an easy transition. That’s all any team has to do and they win, lol.
