Before they come in and posts the same crap from every other weeks preview...

GC2015 - Something something... this is the first real test for the Blues where we'll find out if they are the real deal or just pretenders... Something something... Our wins against GWS and Melbourne didn't mean anything...

Tilly - Swans by 30+ Carlton are massively overrated

Fudge - Blues to finish 16th this season

As for the actual game, oddly calm about this one. Match up alright vs the Swans who may be missing McCartin. Pittonet being out would be a tough ask for TDK vs Grundy but if we get on top in the middle think we win. If we break even in the middle or lose that contest then think we'll get absolutely smoked. Swans too good with ball in hand and our defense has been a bit leaky this season compared to last.

Swans at home is the hardest road trip in football currently in my opinion.
They have an average winning margin of 40 points such is their dominance.
I am hoping, more than anything , for a good game of footy but don't think we get the chokkies in this one swans will be too good for us.

The smaller ground should help our contested pressure game. We’ve got minutes into players coming back with a few more soldiers to potentially come in this week. Motlop Williams Cerra (seems right) Saad and Marchbank.

Tough coming back from freo. It seems every team has lost the following week this year. Sydney will have a few sore bodies plus the potential concussion protocols to overcome for Blakey and McCartin. Grundy looks sore and tired after holding the ruck down well the last few weeks.

Cerra seems right? Doesn't he have a hamstring strain?

Similar to the Cats and Pies games, the outside run between the arcs of the Swans concerns me. If we can turn it into a tight contested game, I think we have the quality at both ends to get over the line. Should be a cracker.

Should be a good game if the last few games between the sides is any indication. To be a chance Carlton need to punish the Swans on the scoreboard in the first quarter where the Swans have been slow to get started this season. If its close at half time Swans by 6 goals

Reckon the Blues will match up pretty well on us to be honest; don’t have a great gut feel about this one. Confident we could beat them if we get them again in the finals but won’t be surprised if we drop this.

I think we "should" beat them, depends on how they pull up after a hot humid game in Perth, as all the players looked absolutely spent.

Not that old chestnut.

If this game was in Melbourne, the game would no doubt be at Docklands which would be a grand total of 4.5M longer (2.25M from centre to goal line)

Also narrower by 7.2M

Forget the crappy camera angles at the SCG, size compares quite well to Docklands albeit wider where most visiting teams tend to get lost out on the wings.

I don't think you can write off Carlton's flag chances if they can't salute this week.
However, going 2-3 against the big boys in GWS, Geelong, Collingwood, Melbourne and Sydney isn't ideal.

You'd rather that be 3-2 or 4-1 if you're a Carlton supporter that's targeting a flag this year.

Sydney by 18.

Swans have been really consistent over past few weeks.

Carlton have gone between blistering hot and.. not so hot. Big gap between Q1 and Q4 vs Melbourne.

Swans' ability to keep bringing the pressure probably the difference. Will miss McCartin though.

Except that the SCG has a larger playing area than Carlton's home ground.
