Elijah Hollands - Carlton debutant

Elijah Hollands will run out in the Navy Blue for the first time when Carlton takes on North Melbourne in today’s Good Friday SuperClash. Reuniting with his younger brother Ollie, Hollands' arrived at Carlton in late 2023, through the Trade Period. Hailing from Wodonga, Hollands was selected with pick No.7 in the 2020 AFL Draft and went on to feature in 14 games for the Gold Coast Suns. The 21-year-old has been continuously lauded by the coaches and his teammates across the pre-season for his hard work and dedication to his training, skills, and craft.

Standing room only

All seats to today’s match against North Melbourne are sold out. All public reserved seat tickets are now exhausted, with only limited standing room available. $5 from each adult ticket sold from today’s game will go directly to the Good Friday Appeal.

Carlton to show they could be better than a mid table team against a resurgent nmfc.

What other possible game could there be on a Good Friday* to showcase key aspects of footy?

I am a huge admirer of Toby Pink. However, the poor guy in just his third game will be up against it.

The Blues to win by a gazillion but nmfc to gain plenty of admirers and even a crowd.

Midfield battle should be an interesting one and probably our only avenue to limit the damage.

If you combine the ratings of North's starting 4, it's only slightly behind Sydney and Freo's after the 2 rounds and 3rd in the league.

Carlton's is in the bottom half with sub par starts from all of Hewett, Cerra and TDK (apart from his last quarter against Richmond).

North's starting 4 (Xerri, Powell, LDU, Wardlaw) is averaging 27 clearances per game vs the Carlton's 15.5 (Cripps, Hewett, Cerra, TDK) and the Carlton midfield certainly isnt the Freo or GWS lineup at the moment.

I'm only concerned about their tall forwards we match up pretty well everywhere else.

Hopefully no cheap frees to Curnow this time.
