Probably, but I clearly don't keep the same skewed incorrect free-kick spreadsheet you do, so I don't have specifics, someone else more interested in winning an umpiring argument could probably better answer that question.
I sit and watch games with a neutral eye and both Collingwood’s and Hawthorns games always stick out above all else.

I know there is a tendency for people to see what they want to see but some calls are genuinely baffling to me, especially when there is a direct comparison the other way that hasn’t been paid.

All I see is more elite talent coming through the door on the way to the top tiers of the comp. No hate but your list has maxed out already. Your most impactful players are the wrong side of their prime and you have no elite kids coming through
The delusion is either real or you’ve punched as many cones as the 05 eagles

Go to bed

That's a fair point. We weren't thrilled to lose Colbert when we were struggling, but I can't remember any actual animosity towards North Melbourne. You've just got to hope the club does something with the compensation (even if it's unders) and move on. Although I might draw the line at Hawthorn stealing Holmes. ;)

:)

In general I think Hawthorn fans were not too bitter towards the clubs that took Mitchell, Lewis , Hodge and Gunston, but having a semi-recent (although now fading) three-peat certainly helped cushioned us in that regard. I think we certainly felt a bit more angst over Smith to Geelong, but also found it hard to not laugh at Smith's cheekyness with his "I've already won Geelong one final" comments just after the trade was done :)

Genuinely though.

We finish last this year and we get pick 1 and 2 plus 10-12 from you guys to add to our up and coming crop.

You guys peter out to a first or second week exit again and another year of your best players approaching or passing 30. You’ve peaked far too early without adding the elite talent required for a proper push to the top.

You have actually no clue

Either stop trolling or get some help

The fact that you truly seem to believe that is a great explanation for your all your Hawthorn game-day posts this season. You have a severe lack of insight into your own condition.
I’ve posted in Collingwood threads as well. You can’t tell me you’ve sat through one of their games and not thought it’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever seen

Must be very frustrating being a Crows fan. Yes they got shafted a bit by the umps, but none of those decisions really directed impacted the game. They always seem on the wrong end though, AFL umps must hate them. Okay maybe one or two, but bad kicking is bad footy.

I think they just need to make finals and get some experience. 2026 is when they make a serious tilt.

Hawthorn still borderline contenders for me, but tonight did not fill me with much confidence. Doing what they have to do, if they improve significantly they will be.

Yeah and both sets of supporters went through it with Ablett/Franklin, but flag(s) preceded AND followed to soften those blows.

We watched Johnson, Chapman, Kelly and co. play good footy at other clubs. You can't keep all of them forever. Smith being a Geelong legend was never on my bingo card, but geez he looked good in blue and white!

We had one player over 30 in the team today, and partly keeping the spot warm for the return of Dear and Lewis. We had plenty of 25 and under players in our top contributors today - several of which have big scope for improvement given the low number of games they've played (Weddle, Ward, Watson the most obvious, but McDonald and Butler also likely to get better). Hustwaite probably the under 22 player least likely to make it long term from those out there today. Dominates at VFL (arguably top 3 mid in the entire VFL competition), but has had trouble doing enough to keep a spot in the firsts without injury making room for him. If he can ever get to the point where he can translate VFL performances to AFL level, he'll be a very handy mid, but no real upwards trajectory in his AFL appearances this far IMO.

So where is the elite talent under 25? Weddle - sure. Watson? - maybe but a small forward doesn’t get you far.

It’s a middling list that maybe has one Bulldogs run up their sleeve if luck falls their way but I can’t see it having sustained success.

I'm sure you're a bundle of laughs there too.

I see a team who is currently the competition leaders. Often those teams do well with the umpires. I know I tend to remember the ones that go against the team I'm hoping wins, and not the ones that went the other way, so I try to temper my umpiring posts accordingly (not always successfully). I try to at least sprinkle a few non-umpiring whinging posts in our losses. Unfortunately your 1-wood, 2-wood and 3-wood all seem to be umpire whinging posts, and it makes you look a little unhinged.

It really just hasn’t maxed out already. Hawthorn have more talent in their big toe.

Our most impactful players are either young or prime aged players?
