Yep, 100% correct, unless you count "timing when to do the bump without giving away a free" as timing.

It is ridiculous that they kept in the circular timing reticule despite the fact that it now does nothing.
I pretty much never use the bump in marking contests, it’s much easier to just use the sticks and edge your opponent under the ball, I’ve also found that you can kind of push off your opponent using the left stick anyway (as the ball is about to land, push the left stick towards your opponent and then in the opposite direction to mark, almost like the left stick controls your hands if that makes sense)

I would consider submitting the Switch patch earlier than the others for those users given Nintendo's slow process. I believe thats how other games don't alienate the platform over a duration particularly for online games. (Not Devs/publishers fault I know)

Stuff that. The switch player base will be tiny. If they have to wait a little longer so be it, the patches need to be pushed as soon as they're ready imo.

Any news on the PC release?

I got it on both Switch and Xbox one.
Anyone want to play online.
Can't find an opponent for both consoles.
No one seems to be playing online.

So.... now that 1.01 is a thing of the past for all consoles..... I can talk about this exploit that's been fixed in 1.02.

In 1.01 you could have all 22 players on your team, on the field, at the one time.

As I said, this has been fixed in 1.02, and I'm not sure how many people knew about it, but it seemed like the right thing not to discuss it, so it wouldn't get out, and people wouldn't exploit it in online games....

Basically there was a way to bring on your interchange players without taking a player off the field for them...giving you extra players on the field.

This guy I played online once had an extra ruckman against me.... so I started to try an figure out how he did it in my offline games.
Got it working, and only tried it once online, to prove the exploit worked there too. (my online record is terrible, so it's obvious that I didn't use this to gain an advantage).

This could even be done with AFLW rules.... where you normally have 16 on-field players, with 6 on the bench (so you can play 22 vs 16).
But yeah, count the number of male Saints players in this video....and check out their empty bench.

Most tend to delay the other platforms and only release when Switch is through, I'd prefer to let users have the game asap - especially if there are fixes involved. Becomes a bit more messy when one of PS or Xbox don't pass, there are platform "equality" contractual clauses that mean you may have to hold back the release until both are through.

Poor bastard. Probably spent time considering whether he should buy it, decides to buy it, forks out his hard earned cash, and decides the game is unsalvageable after 5 minutes of playtime.

Reminds me of the time I spent 15 minutes travelling to KMart to buy Kevin Sheedy Coaching for the PC and spent more time travelling to get a refund than playing the game - such a dog.

Sorry for quick OT post
BigAntStudios Hey Ross, is Gridiron Champions dead in the water or can you not talk about it?

Unfortunately I very much doubt that Gridiron Champions will see the light of day, they have not been in contact with us for years now. (It is a shame, I worked with the NFL for five years, was looking forward to it.)

Are console folk still playing? I hesitantly chucked the disc in for the first time in a week a couple days ago. I've tried to tweak the sliders in a way to balance out the BS as best as possible. The end of game stats look pretty decent now, but it still feels like for every ounce of joy I manage to squeeze out of the game I receive three ounces of anal aneurisms. On field I'm sick of my players throwing the ball 10 metres backwards into the hands of my opponent when tackled, the bullshizen rubberbanding and being pinged for deliberate rushed behinds. Off field I can't stand seeing Tom Lynch and Blake Acres leading the disposals tally, one club legends moving to rivals at age 36 (sit down SMitch), and Carlton and Weagles at 1st and 18th respectively in the 2020 and 2021 seasons - this is what happens when you input minimal discrepancies in player attributes. Or does it say more about how redundant attributes are in this game? Perhaps the latter given how many times my wingmen are run down by opposition ruckman like they've just stolen their gold jacket.

I had a few goes of the Switch version last night. It plays a lot better than it did previously. Haven't altered the sliders from the default position yet. In terms of the rubber banding (saw examples of it on the Xbox, but it could have been lapses in my concentration or just bad luck as well) the main game I played Hawthorn vs North Melbourne.... I couldn't penetrate their midfield or defence....... for 3 quarters (would do just enough to hang in there). Yet in the final quarter I scored 5 goals to 0 to win the game. I don't know how I could find it so hard for 3 quarters, only to be able to waltz around the ground controlling the game in the final quarter.

Switch version muuuuch more playable now. Still seem to get weird slowdown in final quarters (something to do with dynamic lighting or weather?) but the rest of the game is hugely improved.

Still keen on the PC release sooner rather than later though..

I actually find that you need to turn the graphics way down (ie: no crowds/scoreboard etc) in the game to get it to a more palatable frame rate. I tried be a pro and that is pure chaos on the tiny Switch screen :p

I too am waiting to see what the PC version is like, Evolution 1 was AMAZING on pc compared to the console versions (smooth as silk framerate, plus the graphics looked far better - ALMOST NBA 2K/FIFA standard!!). Even Big Ant's AFL LIVE reached its peak Dragon Ball Z super saiyan form on pc compared to the 360/ps3 releases.

Was Brad Scott still the coach?

Even on default settings my framerate was smooth and much improved until that final quarter bug I mentioned, but I did notice they added a few new graphical options which is nice. I've also dropped them way down and it doesn't seem to have missed a beat since.

The normal side to side camera is fine. Things get a bit messy (bodies everywhere, framerate slows down) when using the pro cam in be a pro mode.

Playing with graphic settings on high (this is confusing lol they've got low graphics meaning no changes and HIGH meaning everything is turned down eg no crowds. They should flip the descriptions around).

Playing without the crowd the frame rate is what it should be when settings are at their graphical best.

Hadn't considered different camera angles actually. Will have to pay more attention to that. Should note I have mine zoomed in a bit to make handheld more visible but it's not ideal.

And yes it's not high graphics but high performance. Strange wording but it works haha
