Maybe start the game with one controller on each side and go into Team Management as normal... then once in the game, change sides back to the one team.

Lol cricket involves a ball being bowled and then a batter swinging. That's the whole game. So much easier than an AFL game in every single aspect.

The main purpose of this thread, if there is one, would be to have communication between the game's creators and its paying customers. Given there is essentially zero of that, I think there is really nothing to derail.

Absolute bullshit. This thread isn’t here as an official or even unofficial way to communicate with the games developers (who have their own website/forums).

This was a launch thread, which initially evolved into an ongoing game forum for this one specific game, that owners could, and were, sharing their ideas, experiences and outcomes. It has since devolved into a pseudo-competition bagging, self promoting, WW baiting mess.

Perhaps since it has now launched, and there is a seperate thread for those who actually play the game, this dead-thread is either closed, or renamed to general ”Australian Sports Gaming Banter“ and moved to the appropriate section of the BF forums?

Right now, as someone playing and enjoying the game, it is a thread with some similar minded people trying to share ideas and experiences, but also with non-owners of the actual game, a not so subtle self-promoting competitor dev, a few posters further derailing it by asking said dev about other sports titles, and the occasional FB worthy troll.

edit: standing by for the “why don’t you just go to the other thread”.
reason being, there are still multiple gamers in here trying to discuss the game. Yes, if they all move across, I would too, but again, that confirms the need for this thread to be closed.

I can't hear the game commentary

The commentary is set to come out of the central speaker for surround sound setups.

If your sound configuration is set up to use a central speaker but you don't have one connected

this issue can occur. Adjusting your speaker setup should solve this issue.

Suggestion: Don’t reset player positions at stoppages | Wicked Sports

This is a suggestion for the next game, as it’d probably take a lot of balancing to get this right in the game.... But I‘d like players to maintain their position on the field when a stoppage occurs. at the moment, if there’s a free kick, kick-in, ball up, throw-in etc, no matter where players are o

For people saying they don't care... the have attended their forum pretty well.... even though most responses previously were just canned 'we'll pass it on' answers. And yeah.... maybe it took BigAntStudios to ruffle some Sebastian Giompaolo feathers to get a forum up.... but at least now we know us fans are being heard.

This isn't Reddit or Stack Exchange with heavily moderated topics for discussion. Instead of complaining about BigAntStudios posting off topic about their own product then why not direct it those who are constantly asking questions that are also equally off topic. They are only responding. Given they are questions to a professional that stem from criticisms of this game then I would argue that they are infact on topic. That they are publishing comments under their company name is entirely their own decision. We even had the publisher make an appearance and who knows what impact that had on WW creating their own forum to hear issues.

As long as arguments don't get personal, the discussion is somewhat organic and other posters aren't discouraged from posting about the game then for now it's play on.

I said as long as there was an official advertised way of contact there there could be a potential relationship with the players and how it was unclear and inconsistent at the time. Then these fourms popped up!!

I intend after the first patch to make another bug list to post there but try and develop it more and make it in their format. I hope people aren’t discouraged here
to post any issues and video/screens that I can add along with my own experience. I think it would also be good to confirm fixes (even if they are confident), anything new, what remains and prehaps push some suggestions in hope theres some things they could add along with future fixes. I hope theres more than two patches personally. The core isn't that bad at all.

One topic per thread on their forum.... with a clear title about it.... so everyone can have their specific input on that topic.

Currently it's a mix.... some great topics/discussions....then some that are titled 'Broken game'.....and say 5 different things, each with very little detail..... (and probably aren't even bugs/issues anyway!)

I came here to write that, you have summed it up perfectly. The simulation is ridiculous (Sean Darcy won back2back Brownlows on mine). The career mode needs some serious work, I feel genuinely ripped off having to pay 100 bucks for a game that has barely chamged since the first AFL Evo (the menu screen seems exactly the same). Not happy.

yeah crows ruck O’Brien won the Brownlow in my season.

this goes back to the lack of representation of real footballing ability in the ratings. Knowing where to position around packs, when and where to move ie reading the clearances, where to run during play. Workrate around the ground. These aren’t represented at all. They should be the first things designed in the game.

Travis boak isn’t a highly skilled footballer, he’ll he’s not even above average. But he knows where to run, how to win the footy and works his butt off to get there.

in a simmed season he will be a nobody while guys like O’Brien win Brownlows.

Playing the game with a dominant ruck in my team I’m constantly infuriated that as I go up to tap the ball my centre mids stand flat footed side by side on the defensive side of their opponents. There is never an attempt to get free, to be on the move, to run into the space I am about to hit the ball. It’s all reacting after the fact.

until afl evo works out how to do that technically in a game it will be a failure that people briefly enjoy for the novelty.

It would be underhanded for anyone at Big Ant to post here without being very clear about that relationship. There's a bit of banter, but mostly I'm answering questions asked or those that I think would otherwise go unanswered.

In terms of negative comments of the game, I can only assume that comments that others are making or that I might answer are being attributed to me. Apart from my answer to Sebastian Giompaolo where he almost called for me to say it, I've not said much - far, far less than most here

Also try a reinstall. I launched into the game mid-install (physical CD, xbox), and everything worked perfectly except no club songs. Both running on, nor winning.
Spoke to WW, they said they hadn’t heard that one, but suggested reinstalling.

Did that, as they said, all settings and game saves were saved, music appeared!

Is there a thread for 'prospective' AFL game owners? I came to see what the feedback was like, and thought I 'd stay for the interesting discussions. Well.. at least until the next big round of feedback rolls through when the v1.02 Update drops.

Seriously, just had my Pro Career rookie guy finish up a year in the U18s with every accolade possible and 3 times the goal tally of anyone else. Got drafted 4th round.... but figured, fair enough, he's a 186cm "key forward", a bit unconventional by today's standards and an AFL recruiter could have question marks over that and the fact he's more a marking player than a crumber, even though he was so far ahead of anyone else it wasn't funny. To me he's kind of in the Russell Robertson or Fev kind of mould.

That wasn't such a big deal, but anyway he got drafted to Hawthorn and in the two JLT (sorry, Marsh or whatever it is now) games he had over 20 touches each game, 7 goals and 6 goals respectively, playing FF.

Get to Round 1.... dropped to VFL.

Wut.

Certainly never happened in Evo 1. I had players in that game getting around at age 37 looking and playing like they were still in their 20s.

You could try the virgin infested planet cricket... There're some decent posters and modders there but just be careful of the hoi polloi. Big ant engage very well there (as they ignore the *********).
