GeeLOL sucks, so does $hitney
A good case in point is Adam Cooney. Aged 23 and has already lost much of his hair. Gary Ablett Jr is another that springs to mind.

This is a remarkably common thing among AFL footballers. No doubt the stress of playing top-level footy and the huge responsibilities placed on young shoulders is a big factor.

A fair tradeoff for the huge salaries young players are paid?

I think it's identical to the rate of hair loss in the general public. It's just that the AFL players are the vain types who shave their legs and wont get their heads on tv with a half growth happening. They'd rather shave it all off.

I thought I read that early baldness was often the result of too much testosterone?

Maybe more testosterone equals better football ability.

Tell that to NicNat. :p

I think it's common full stop. I can think of at least 10 of my mates who are balding; including myself unfortunately.

Big Bad Baz!

it does appear somewhat that the small proportion of AFL participants who suffer from premature male pattern baldness are quite handy as footballers too. as well as the current crop of guns, Ablett Snr, Carey, Lockett, and Dunstall & Matthews (although he lost it as soon as he retired) come to mind as champions of the game too. all tough nuts too.

scouts should include a family history check for premature MPB prior to drafting youngsters. :thumbsu:

:D

The crickets have the same problem, only they go to "Advanced Hair Hats" to hide the bald bits.

got 3 brothers, 2 of whom were all but bald at 30, the other is hanging in there just while yours truly is still sporting a mullet in all its glory.

A gentleman gets his baldness genes from his mum who passes them on from her father so have a look at your father-in-law if you wish to look at future hair loss.
You mean your grandfather?? I don't think you get the baldness genes from mums new boyfriend.

tadgh kennelly anyone

he seemed to of lost most of it in one go

also jarrad mcveigh, been balding since being drafted

geez... we are a shiney scalp bunch.... oh well... baldness is associated with virility and potency :p
