Can we claim Ballantyne, A Pearce and Bennell, plus an injured Stephen Hill in the second half? And it's not like Spencer was useless that game. He was probably one of your best so Gawn's absence was negated somewhat.

You can't compare those 3 to our 3. I don't know what else to say. Really terrible argument.

FMD, Bennell would be a walk-up start at any club, including yours. It's not like Hogan has set the world on fire, he's shown glimpses and that's about it. And again, Gawn's absence was well covered by Spencer. Spencer did better against Sandilands than Gawn has ever done.

I expect Freo to drop out of the race for the top 8, probably after the bye, but Christ, to some of you Dees fans, chalking up an unlikely win against a flag fav away from home means that you can start preaching to the masses whilst totally forgetting your AFL assisted rebuild. It was only a few weeks ago that your board was citing same old, same old and that your fortunes weren't going to change.

It's not a scheduling quirk to make things unfair on the cats though- the stadium wasn't ready (is it done for Friday? They were working round the clock I heard). So they can host bigger matches (including potential finals) you had to fix the stadium. Then maybe, one year, we won't have to go there! It's been a long time...

First game at home this coming Friday...we only get 7 for the year, we should have a minimum 9, preferably 11 each year, but the AFL have other ideas.

You had the second smallest injury list last year, and you did **** all with the opportunity. Didn't even make finals.

Welcome back to reality, MFC.
A bit rich coming from a Port supporter. You've got the softest draw going around this year. You've now got byes until you play WCE on 9 July.

Dees will put you guys in your place. You won't like how we play contested footy.

40 goals in his first and second season is just ''glimpes''.....right.

Meanwhile, a bloke that hasn't played football since 2015 with the longest calf injury in AFL history and questionable off field behaviour would be a ''walk-up start'' at any club. Shocking stuff.

Yep and I am sure he will be scoring even more goals per season as he goes along but right now, missing a player who scores around 2 goals a game is hardly a huge loss. You and that other bloke make it sound like it was Josh Kennedy (eagles) that missed the game.

He's injured, just like Gawn is. If he weren't he'd be playing. What's your point? We are playing hypotheticals here and if Gawn wasn't injured he would have played. Similarly if Bennell wasn't injured he would have played. If Naitanui wasn't injured he would have played last week. Just because Bennell's injury has been for longer than Gawn's doesn't mean you can disqualify him, especially since he was on track to play this year before the latest injury.

Maybe stay away from the cold meats section at your local supermarket mate. You may get mistaken for the produce.

What's your point?

Gawn & Naitanui weren't on a newspaper snorting coke, as far as i know anyway. There's clearly more than just injury when it comes to Harley.

Brilliant:thumbsu:

Aaah so that's your point. Seriously though, a West Coast fan having a go at an opposition player for drugs?!?!

Even the Germans have learnt to keep quiet about the atrocities the Syrians are committing in the Middle East.

Saying he's got a chronic calf issue and drug problem is hardly having a go. These are pretty well known facts i'd imagine.
Well you blokes won a flag with half your team on the gear, so why that would disqualify Harley (if he is in fact still on it) from being included in a hypothetical scenario has me stumped.

They didn't have an old mans injury at 24, fairly obvious i would've thought.

Harley is an extremely talented player, but at this point in time he's just as likely to be out of the league as he is putting together a successful career at the dockers IMO.

So if he plays one qtr this year can we include him then... please?

Good teams have depth and bring in like for like players (Gawn/Spencer), every team cops injuries.... Lewis is a dickhead and shouldn't have clocked someone behind play.
Absolutely but replacing the best ruckman in the game, a super talented full forward and the only premiership player on our list, is much easier said than done.

If Geelong lost Dangerfield, Selwood and Hawkins, I doubt you can just say, "oh well, it should make no difference, they should have depth".

Jack Anthony kicked 50. Nuff said.
So now we're comparing a player every Freo fan and their dog was salivating over not 8 months ago to Jack Anthony? Spare me.

As I said, Melbourne's Q3 was their worst of the year. Freo played damn well in the second half and deserved to win. Shit happens. I still think Melbourne are more likely to play finals than the Dockers.

Agree but Spencer came in and played very well, you have good midfield depth but I agree with the Hogan one that's a tough one to replace.
