Bit sensitive aren't we? No need to be churlish. Don't get me wrong. Nicks a reasonable player. It's just that he's never really been the same since Heath Shaw gave him 15 metres start and caught him just before the goal line in the 2010 GF replay. You do remember that one don't you?
Lol! He's a 5 time all Australian, 6 time b&f winner, he goes ok for a reasonable player. I guess that's why Eddie went after him, you seem to be flush with reasonable players these days. How I wish we had Cloke instead of Riewoldt.

This stax on the mill bloke has smoked too many bongs.

Dude, you're so far in the minority you're a fringe dweller.

No one cares about Heath Shaw's smother except you. We're debating who's been the best in their position this season.

Well you can't have him. Nick would have fitted in o.k. at Collingwood. Could have been a handy foil for Cloke. Probably would have been at least as good as Jesse White or Quinten Lynch.

Yeh he would've been as good as a VFL player, you're obviously struggling with some mental illness so I'll leave you be.

Hawkins has been a lone hand all year and constantly deals with multiple defenders. Roughhead on the other hand doesn't have to worry about the double and triple teaming thanks to Gunston, Bruest and Hale. Plus Roughy kicked all his bags against bottom of the ladder dwellers where as Hawkins kicked far more goals against the top 8 sides.
Of course Roughead has to deal with multiple defenders at times too, but he's not a sole target. Not sure why that should go against him when he's such a valuable player around the ground either.

Gunston also moves up to the wing and half back throughout a game to leave Roughead to go it alone as the tall target with smalls at his feet, while other times Gunston stays deep and Rough roams.

Don't be fooled by Roughead not kicking bags against top sides either, as that's not what Clarkson is aiming for.
In fact, it's the reason Hawthorn is where it is.
When it comes to games like last years Prelim or even this years qualifying final Clarkson sets up for others to be the avenue to goal, and to create a spread that will have us score heavily - Burgoyne 2013 prelim for example.

Indeed, no team in the comp scores as regularly as Hawthorn, and Clarkson has orchestrated this by not having the team rely on one focal point.

What you're actually arguing though is that because Hawkins is relied on to kick bags each week, he should be rated more highly than a guy who has kicked the same amount of goals in less games while having far more disposals, tackles, clearances, contested possessions and general involvement in each game that he's played.

Thankfully the AA selectors didn't think this way.

Thanks for making the same point I did in greater detail.

Cloke is a front running spud.
Hawkins is the best forward in the comp so can understand why so many feel Roo was lucky. He was unlucky last year so it has evened up.
I would say buddy is the best forward in the comp and Hawkins has a way to go before getting anywhere near him. In saying that though Reiwoldt deserves his spot in the side based on the year he had and lets not even mention Cloke in the same breath as Cloke will never be anything than just a good/ordinary forward but more ordinary than not

And if only our key forward was given half the protection and received half as many free kicks as poor old Nick receives. Saw Nicks "courage" on display the day Brisbane sorted him out.
People wonder why Collingwood is the most despised club in the land, it's not your success, it's comments like this from buffoons who have NFI. Poor whittle Twavis doesn't get any fwee kicks, boo hoo.
