Well I have a bit to do
im not a pro but looking at his action....just not rightA Hahahahaha.
An outdoor environmental officer is given a fire starter and spends a hour n half unsuccessfully not lightning a fire.
He spends an hour carving cartoons in his tomahawk handle instead of practising lighting a fire.im not a pro but looking at his action....just not right
what about surfing a log ? could do your ankle, knee, nut, rib easily..oh no...sat phone WTFHe spends an hour carving cartoons in his tomahawk handle instead of practising lighting a fire.
Most clever people also get soft material for fire starting and bank it in thier shelter for a rainy day.
Jimmy got covid...he even asked to be dropped back to a different spotHas anyone left for a good reason yet? The casting has been real poor.
Because they gave us that popup in an earlier episode?saw sedge is so named...(lacerations) yet Gina never educated the audience on that...no popup factoid even....that's a miss for story telling
There's not the need to build too complex shelter in the tassie one. Don't have to protect from snow and animals and not as cold. Basically just need wind protection and a roof.
oh, can't rememberBecause they gave us that popup in an earlier episode?
I haven't seen the original version. Whilst I'm watching this yeah you can tell that the show could be be so, so much better.
The first US season was a bit like this, but I do think they've leant too heavily on casting for diversity first, instead of skillset first. The second season you'd hope will be better cast.
That high school teacher who left day 1 simply didn't have the skillset to last, she should never have been on the show. The alpha-male hunter is a very typical type that you see in the US shows that theoretically has the skillset but rarely lasts because they can't cope with adversity, there's usually one or two of them every season.
Also I don't think the location has been great, very limited options for foraging / trapping which means playing the catch a fish roulette wheel, and the weather whilst unfriendly isn't inhospitable in the same way that it is in the places they filmed the US version. I don't forsee this being a season where the winner lasts all that long.
They don't tend to wander that far, particularly given how dense the scrub is around their campsites. Some competitors have definitely gone walkabout, particularly in the Mongolia series, but so far no two contestants have run into each other.I aught up with the last two episodes and had to fast forward when they started talking. I get so bored with all the personal s**t. I'm a bit concern for the army vet and his fragile mentality. I know I shouldn't discriminate but sometimes I think he shouldn't be on the show. Of course the producers went for diversity they have to. The alpha male who was a professional hunter just cracked me up. He couldn't hunt for his life, not a good look for his business that he only lasted a couple of days. The two females are doing ok but the one who doesn't want to kill anything is not going to last she is going to starve only eating about five berries a day. The other one built a great shelter and her decision not to have a sleeping bag seems to be paying off. Thought she was going on about not wearing a lot of clothing, yet when she was in her bed she had a lot of clothing on. I don't know what food they can hunt other than possums and maybe not the right weather conditions for trout. Like how the vet guy just ate the trout roe straight away. I've only seen a few episodes from each seasons. I'll stick with it. Maybe they could do one in NZ. Question what happens if you come across another contestant 10kms is not that far from each other.
