We also got Torney, who has and will be more than handy. You won't find me defending the Carey deal, it was a mistake, but I don't think Wells has been all that magic either. He was great early in the year and then lost his way. he's certainly no Cooney or Griffen.

I think Andrew and Carlton are going through a similar thing to Goddard and
St Kilda in having trouble finding exactly what position each young player is suited to.

Goddard like Walker is a high pick that hasnt exactly set the world on fire but his body shape has changed alot and so where to play him also changes along the way.

Even i'm not sure where i'd play Walker or Goddard but i do know once they find their positions they will both be very good footballers.

Give the kid a break. Not every top 10 pick is going to be a Judd that strolls into an AFL team and dominates. Most of them take a few years to develop their body and style. Walker has the ability to be a gun. Give him time and he'll show you.
I assume you know this, of course. That is why you choose to get stuck into him now, rather that miss your chance when he fires up next season

Mme, think someone is getting a little over excited. Perhaps judgements should be made in 2 years from now. It is only his second year. Can't remember how good Yze was when he started but he didn't set the world on fire and Travis Johnstone took forever but is now displaying his true talent.

Must say, overall, the Demons have recruited poorly as well. No forwards - but some good running players. Pity Neitz is nearing the end and no one to replace him.

- Carlton have no leadership... When the cards aren't falling his way who does he have to turn to? Do the senior players pass the ball to him when he's in space or do they ignore him?
- Bottom age recruit (20 next May)... Not physically developed like Cooney, yet. Needs a solid pre season in the gym.
- Shown glimpses of what he is capable in his first game and shown it in patches in other games.
- Has a good attitude... And is one of a few of the Carlton boys who actually tries to get in his opponents head.
- Is a step above everyone in VFL... When someone like Davies or Clarke get 30-VFL possesions they aren't really effective but when Walker gets 20-VFL possesions he looks exceptional... So obvious he doesn't belong there.

FD if your so confident that Walker is ******** then why don't we make it interesting? I'll put $100 that he will finish top 5 in Carlton's Best & Fairest in 2006, 2007, 2008 or 2009... He'll be 23 by then and a 100+ gamer so he should be playing well... Are you up for it, or to scared cos you know your wrong?
