GOLD !!!:thumbsu:

But I can imagine it going more like this....

Hi Josh, just got off the phone from Donald McDonald...nice guy...it is going to be difficult to trade with the Kangaroos. He says James Brainshaw & Brad Snott have thrown all their toys out the cot & won't deal with us at all. Sorry mate, but we will keep trying on your behalf. So much for their 'shinboner' spirit, hey ! Keep you in touch, bye.:p

Does Pelchen give people lame kindergarten level insulting nick names? I thought he was above that, but I guess you'd know him better.

Can you give us a rundown on this lad?
Carlton+Blues+Training+Session+Y5Qic9PD4gUl.jpg

Browne is a 180 cm hard nut - who plays as a rebounding Half Back Flank that can push into the midfield.

He attacks the ball hard, has clean hands, reads the game well and takes a strong mark (for someone his size) - but throughout this season he was exposed for his pace off the mark and also struggled with consistancy.

He's a rather quiet lad from WA and we still have high hopes for him - given he was All Australian U 18's in 2007, but at the moment he plays a role that we have covered quite well.

He consistantly performs well in the Bullants but still cannot seem to get much of a look in.

Suprisingly though - he is a fantastic set shot for goal.

Dont know if this helps :thumbsu:

Thanks for the rundown :thumbsu:

We have a million HBF'ers who we've been trying to mould into midfielders. The one thing he has which we don't have enough of is this bit:

Suprisingly though - he is a fantastic set shot for goal.

Sounds ok but as said by TToes we have plenty of this type of player. I think we will be targetting some quick outside mids. Grigg seems and interesting one? Was reading the Carlton Board and opinion on Grigg seemed divided, between he will be a gun and he is not up to it?

I think we would be more interested in Carlton's 2 Round Pick and Grigg (maybe a swapping of later picks to even the deal) than just 25 from Hawthorn for Gibbo. Sounds like after the first 15 Picks its a lottery anyway.

Brown makes Grigg look like a star. I wouldn't want either.

Thorp and pick 25 for Gibbo.

No way the Pelican would give this to us, he's an egotistical prick. I would rather a half eaten twistie from Carlton than accept any of his substandard deals.

The other clubs should black ban the maggot!

I'd be happy with that. Thorp was a first round pick who won't get much of an oppurtunity at Hawks with Buddy and roughie in the froward line.

I'd take any of these.

Our 2nd pick+Gibson for pick 9

Our 2nd pick+Gibson for pick 11

Carlton's 2nd rounder and Grigg for Gibson

Kade Simpson for Gibson

Hawks 2nd rounder and Thorp for Gibson.

I don't want anything to do with Dowler, Tom Murphy or Simon Taylor. All those guys are spuds. I wouldn't mind Josh Kennedy or Beau Muston from the Hawks either.

If he wants Burgoyne and Gidson he'll need to part with picks and decent players.
Tuck or Musten (or both) and pick 9 to Port
Thorp and 25 to North

Mitch Thorp is going to be Jon Hay Mk II - when he is forced into an early retirement.

Why do you people think Thorp is not playing currently, and that Hawthorn are open to offers to offload him?

His body simply isn't up to it - he gained a bad name initially by not disclosing issues regarding his hip to the Hawthorn (or any clubs) medical staff during October 2006.

... and without directly saying so .. the no ******** policy wouldn't allow some clubs (ie. Sydney) to trade for him.

I'd have no interest in Thorp anyway. It might be true that Franklin and Roughhead are stifling his development but it's not as though he's doing much at Box Hill when he's not injured which isn't often.

Dowler has shown 10 times more than Thorp.

Kennedy was on the delist pile last year, and is looking promising.

Muston has played one half decent game.

Yet you want Thorp? For the record Thorp is a first round draft pick who has shown nothing and was picked ahead of Joel Selwood.

It's funny how much Hansen gets bagged yet this guy, who hasn't shown even a 10th of what Lachie has done, should be traded for and welcomed with open arms.

I'd take Tuck & pick 25 for Gibson. i think that would be a pretty good outcome for both clubs.

Dean, that is you, isn't it. ;)

If Carlton offered up Grigg and their first rounder for Gibbo(+2nd round) we should take it in a heartbeat...he's a quality young midfielder...good skills on him, struggles for game time in Carltons mids but still ave'd 20 touches in an injury interupted season.

Um you do realise that Grigg played 20/22 games in 2008, mainly off the HBF (which is where I really see him playing, a rebounding defender that offers run and carry out of the backline) and would have played A LOT more this year if he was fit (Injured during the preseason and never really recovered). He still has A LOT of improvement in him, and is worth more than Gibson IMO.

I know it's going to be laughed at on here, but a deal floating around the Carlton boards would be Grigg, #11 and #27 for Gibson and #5. (Waits for the lynching mob)

You're not wrong.

generally the club going in search of a player in the trade period is the one that gives something up to get him. Not the other way around. First round pick. You're kidding, right?
