Yes its complex, but neart the top of list is housing costs and no real wages growth. Young people can't families if they can't afford a roof over their heads, which affects natural population growth, so we import millions of others to fix our low population growth but all it does is exacerbate the problem

In 2015- TEN years ago- the RBA released a statement on housing affrodabilty. They literally said "Housing price growth is underpinned by "strong" immigration". All the parties know this but they deflect, deflect: NG, CGT blah blah, interest rates, deposits etc when its record immigration is behind it.

You need only go to the doctor to understand why cutting immigration is not the answer. If we don't have the people to fill the roles we need, we either need to educate them or import them. If we import them, they need a place to live.

Immigration is such a lazy response. Look at WHY we bring people into the country and deal with those issues. Solve that and everything else falls into place.
