Barry Hall?? Has he been that good so far this year??

He has been pretty good in some games just not as much as people expect from the big guy. He still needs to lift a bit however.
The best list is the coaches but there all pretty similar.

I know he has kicked a few bags of 4 goals, but I didn't think he has been having that big an influence in games.

So many of the other awards name mediocre players in the votes just for playing better than they usually do while if a Brown or a Judd are even slightly down on their usual excellent form they are disregarded.

The thing I like about the coaches award is that they are not influenced by a players previous standards. The coaches just name the players who had the most impact on the game.

Agree. People point to the AFLPA award as a more legitimate alternative to the brownlow, but purely in terms of the method used to determine the winner, you'd have to say the coaches' award should be the most prestigious.

The coaches award is an absolute farce, there is at least one of them who has openly stated that he doesn't bother doing the votes himself, he gets someone else to do it.
