The teams we can draw in CL Third Round Qualifying:

SC Braga
Dynamo Kyiv
Sampdoria
Auxerre
BSC Young Boys

The draw is Friday 12:00 Central European Time. Anyone know what time that is Melbourne time?

i dont really know alot about any of these teams, but my guess would be auxerre would be a good team to draw. although braga are apparently just copy-cats of arsenal so i wouldnt mind thrashing them.

looking at those teams its a bit of a relief comapred to a couple of months ago and we we're worried we would draw a super hard team.

I think Tottenham should be safe unless they draw Sampdoria.. that could be interesting

So if we defeat one of these sides we are Group stage?

Was it Braga who knocked out Celtic.

All those games are potentially tough ones, but we should win them

Young boys would be the best to draw, and IMO Kyiv the worst. The travel factor going to a place like Ukraine in the freezing cold could close the gap in class we'd have over them.

Still no signings wtf??

im almost starting to think that we arnt going to sign anyone untill after our game against city and either our 1st or 2nd CL qualifier, so we can have to same team that know how eachother work/play etc. instead of trying to gel in our opening games. theres been a few players say that these 1st couple of games are crucial as they really set our season up.

Reasonably happy with the draw. Could have been a lot worse. We have the second leg at home which is a slight advantage. Beating City will give us some form going into it.

It's an AFL type situation where deals aren't going through until others do.

It sounds as if we're waiting for Milner to go to Man City so we can A. Focus on Young B. Sell Keane to Villa, which in turn gives us funds for a striker like Huntelaar or Remy.

O'Neill quitting may help or hinder us.

I think youre both about right, everyones waiting on City to do their business. One Milner and Balotelli are confirmed Ireland and Bellamy can leave to Villa and us respectively, Keane can go to Villa (hopefully they still want him)

Bale and Young down the left ~ drool.

Doesn't look like we will get that marquee signing though. If we only got Bellamy and Young though that would pretty handy to say the least.

Is Bale better on the wing though?

Moving him back to left back reduces his effectiveness going forward, and I would think it would be considered a weakness in defence with neither of them offering a great deal of protection.

Bellend, for all his faults (and there are oh so many) at least offers a bit of protection on the left side of defence.

I think his much criticised defensive skills improved a heap in his spell in the 1st team last season. He first got into the side covering for BAE while he was injured and he the tiny Modric in front of him yet he still managed to get forward well.

Young would be a luxury signing. Good player but we don't need him.

When you have Kranjcar and GDS sitting on the bench, there is no need to spend 20 million on another winger.

Good point. I'd rather test Villa out with a massive bid for Agbonlahor. Keane going the other way, a striker force of Defoe-Agbonlahor-Pav-Crouch would be an imporvement. Not as great as first hoped for but still an improvement

Bellamy is a good signing for this, gives us coverage for both positions. Get him as a squad player and move for a big name forward NOW. Then sure up defence and BAM super fun happy Spurs times

im a little dissapointed that we didnt get 3 points but happy the way we bossed shiteh around the park for most of the game. if we can get a quality striker i can see us going places.
