I hope everyone's enjoying the Bomber supporters backtracking over Hird's assertion that the Dons WILL make the top-4 in 2007. e.g. Hird thinks..., Hird hopes... Hird says he thinks... Hird believes... Hird says anything other than.... Hird believe others think...Hirds says it might be possible.... Hird says some think....Hird says its not unrealistic to....Hird says he's aiming for... Hird says Sheedy thinks..etc etc. A hilarious litany of backtracking spins. I wonder why.

Absolutely. Happens every year doesn't it. But this year Hird took it to a new level by stating the Bombers will not only make the 8, but make the top-4. Amazing stuff. No wonder Bomber fans are backtracking at a rapid rate.
They sure do, top 8 is definitely possible for any team. I just don't think those 3 particular clubs are capable of making the top 4 where as everyone else could, many won't though of course (essendon as doubtful as anyone).

Hird is a competitor, and sets a high standard for himself and the team. Lloyd has continued that by setting high standards around the club and on the track.
I'd rather hear our players say they are looking to finish top 4, than hear my coach tell me i have to wait another 4 years!
Is Hird being realistic? Probably not ... but lets reassess in another 5-6 rounds.
