Sorry, I was a little annoyed by the comment.Where’s the sign off?? I’m disappointed, TA.
SLC
That rule doesn't take affect until 2019 I believe, but would need to check
They could trade this year's pick and players, as I am sure WC would prefer players rather than pick, given their window, perhaps another FA, such as Thomas
Pick 1 + Thomas, + a later pick
Looks light from an Eagles perspective, but I am sure a deal could be done
If that Billings thing is true, I have zero faith in our recruiting team. He is the perfect pick up.

Love itSorry, I was a little annoyed by the comment.
I re-read it. I was wrong...a bit like Alan Scott in 2004

I guess the point I am making is that if Gaff has agreed to a $1.2 million per season contract, West Coast have to agree to that salary. I don't see how Hawthorn, for example, becomes an option at $900K, they would need to also match the $1.2 million salary that he has agreed to. West Coast won't be able to force him somewhere on a salary that is less than he has agreed to. The whole point of the $1.2 million salary is to blow the other teams out of the water, Hawthorn and Melbourne wouldn't want to put that kind of pressure on their cap PLUS have to trade multiple first round picks for him.If North backed away, if WC match and North don't trade, another club will
Gaff now? The off season is well and truly here.......
Any idea when exit interviews begin??

That'd be nasty with a Mad Monday hangover...Should be run tomorrow and Wednesday

A lot of bullshit on this board today
I heard Jezza is a lock for assistant coach next year.
That's why they wouldn't let him just go and test the market as you're stating. They would do that before he is given the chance otherwise they will just back themselves into a corner. Shiel won't go anywhere he doesn't want to and GWS won't let a star player go unless they are more than happy with what they are getting. They have a history of getting what they want for good playersBecause he's Dylan Shiel and every club in the comp would be happy to take him off their hands?
Again - a club can't (reasonably) tell a player they want to trade them mid-contract, but then stipulate a shortlist of clubs they're prepared to trade with. Players have much more power than you're crediting them with. If Shiel nominates a club, GWS aren't dealing with anyone else. If a reasonable trade can't be reached, Shiel plays out his contract and GWS miss the boat. Given that, if Carlton (hypothetically) get nominated, and offer up a fair trade (2019 first rounder), I can't really see much wriggle room for GWS. They can threaten to hold Shiel to his contract, but both sides know they don't really want that. They certainly can't say "but Essendon have offered a second round pick as well, so you should too" - it's completely and utterly irrelevant to the discussion.
It’s not correct. Club will be sticking with Bolton with the expectation that we improve markedly next season. The expected improvement will be measured against a number of factors including who we bring in to the club during the off-season.

They all went out last nightThink the club was steering away from Mad Monday’s, more mature than that etc etc.
Could understand the rumoured rage against Bolt’s if this was his call...
I will rarely call out rumours, coz who am I to know if they are real or not?
I take most rumours with a grain of salt, but when I see a wild/saucy rumour (positive OR negative) from a poster's first port I upgrade it to.....

That’s why I said for 2019.Cripps, Dow, Fisher, E Curnow, Walsh, Setterfield, Kennedy, Murphy, SPS.
Picks 1, 1, 3, 5, 6, 13, 13, 25 and a Rookie.
That's not a shallow midfield. It's just a young one.
maybe, just maybe Gaff has had a 'conversation' or 2 with CFC... the club has spoken about another mid's / recruits that may be coming, he can see the future and he's changed his mind. North are North... why (other than $) would you go there..... Just speculation of course. OMG these next 5 weeks are going to be painful.
You sound very definitive on Gaff, as though you know him personally and know as an absolute fact that he will happily accept $350K-$400K less a year than he agreed to. Your post defies logic, if he agrees to North then I would suggest that money would have played a decent part of any decision to move there. Anyway, this is a boring conversation, time to move on.If WC, match the 1.2 and Gaff is willing to stay, they would lose Lycett, and target Roughead from the Dogs, plus a couple of others that I won't mention just yet
Gaff wants back to Melbourne, if it is not North, he would still get there, via another club
Main criteria, still wants final's footy
